"Izu-chan!" Kacchan yelled when Izuku sat up and yawned. "Are you okay? We brought you some sunflower seeds!"

Izuku covered his ears and flared at Kacchan.

"Hey, brat!" Aunt Mitsuki whisper yelled to her son and hit him on the back of the head. "What did I tell you about yelling."

Kacchan covered his mouth and silently apologized to Izuku.

"Its okay Kacchan!" Izuku put his hands on his lap and gave his friend a warm smile. "My head has been hurting since I woke up. It's like someone is yelling in my ear all day."

"Aunt Inko," Toko-nii tugged in Inko's shirt. "Is it okay if we gave Izu-chan his gifts now?"

"Oh why of course, Tokoyami!" She smiled at his.

Kacchan and Toko-nii gave izuku two bags.

Izuku opened the one Kacchan gave him.

"Oh my goodness!" Izuku almost screeched when he found a small hummingbird plushie and sunflower seeds. "It's so cute!"

"Bird brain said that one looked a lot like you so I got it for you!" He put his hands on his hips in a proud manner. "What are you going to name it?"

"Hmm..." He looked at the bird for a bit. Names rolled through his head. "How about Kiwi!"

"Its perfect, honey." Momma ruffled his hair.

"Here, Izu-chan." Toko-nii pushed his bag closer to him.

"Thanks, Toko-nii!" Izuku opened the other bag. Inside was a rainbow parrot and honey sticks. "Toko-nii, it's almost as cute as Kiwi!"

"I know." Toko-nii smiled when he hugged the parrot.

"I'm going to name his Skittles!"

"How creative." Aunt Mitsuki complemented.

They all shared the honey sticks and also some laughs. Izuku kept Kiwi and Skittles by his side as he ate.

Then a nurse and doctor walked in.

"Mrs. Midoriya?" The doctor looked up from the clipboard that he held in his hands. "We have some news about your husband."

"Oh, okay." Momma got up and smiled at the group. "I'll be back."

A few minutes later, she walked back in. Her eyes wet and her shoulders slouched.

"Momma?" Izuku put down the honey stick he was sucking on. "Is everything okay?"

"They... they said that -uh- his brain activity took a sharp turn and he..." Inko fell to her knees and clutched her shirt. "He had a seizure. His head got hit so hard during the crash that-.... uh... caused his permanent brain damage."

"Oh, Inko." Aunt Mitsuki stood up and crouched next to Momma.

"They said that it'll get worse until his brain stops altogether." Her words slurred together. "They asked me if I wanted to pull the plug early on if I wanted to."

"Momma..." Izuku leaned forward. "What's happening?"

"Izuku.." Momma got up and hugged her baby. "Poppa is really sick and I have to put him to sleep soon."

"Is he going to die?"

"No," She smiled at his and wiped her tears away. "But he's going to watch over you forever and ever to make sure you don't get hurt ever again, okay?"

"Okay, momma!"

Momma smiled again and walked out the door. She went back to the doctors.

Although Izuku didn't fully understand how severe the situation was then, he sure is glad he never understood for his sake and his mothers.
