[ROMEO'S POV]
The second Specs arrives for our date, I can't stop myself from overreacting.I run over from my spot under a tree to Specs.
"Oh. My. God! You... you are so handsome!"Specs looks at me like I'm crazy.
"Really? You think so?"I nod.
"Yeah!" I reply.I gently take Specs' hand into mine.
"Your hand, wow... it's so soft and smooth..."Then I place a light kiss on it. The second my lips touch his hand, Specs blushes.
"I-I-uh... thank you, Romeo," Specs manages to say.
I chuckle.
"My pleasure, Specs."Specs glances over to the blanket I placed under the tree.
"Romeo, can we, uh, go sit down?" he asks me."Yeah, I'm gettin' tired of standin' up anyway," I reply.
I retreat back to the blanket, Specs following me.Since we don't know each other very well, I decide to do something about that.
"It would be nice to get to know each other better," I tell Specs.
"Would you like to play 20 Questions? Except we ain't gonna guess stuff, we's just gonna get to know each other"Specs nods.
"Sure. You can go first."I think for a second.
"First, a question regarding your glasses. Are you nearsighted or farsighted?""Kinda a mix of both," Specs replies.
"But more nearsighted.""Okay, remind me never to take your glasses off you," I tease Specs, tapping the edge of his black frames.
"You look handsome with your glasses on anyway."Specs chuckles.
"Th-thank you.""Anytime," I reply.
Then Specs slumps back a bit, his back hitting the tree.
"Do you like Broadway musicals, and if you do, what's your favorite?""Yes, I love Broadway musicals," I reply.
"But my favorite? Hmm. That's a hard one..."I am a huge theater nerd. In fact, in middle and high school, I was in every single one of their plays.
I think to myself. Do I have one single favorite Broadway musical?
... No. I don't.
Maybe I could settle listing off some of my favorites."Well, uh... I don't have one single favorite. I like a lot of old stuff. Like Phantom, Les Mis, West Side Story... but I also like some more modern stuff. Wicked is pretty great, I like Legally Blonde, there's this one about dancing newsboys... that one's kinda confusing, I just recently got back into it."
Specs chuckles.
"Yeah, sounds like you love Broadway," he says. Then he raises an eyebrow.
"That one about dancing newsboys? I remember hearing about it. I swear I'se heard of it, but I just can't place it...""I think I went to see that one when I was little," I tell him.
"Maybe that's why I just vaguely remember it. I'se only listened to the cast album like twice."Shit, we're getting off topic.
"Okay, let's continue. Favorite color?"
"I like green," Specs answers.
"And I throw the question back to you. What's your favorite color?""Pink and purple... ooh, and blue!" I answer.
Specs and I continue asking each other questions. We reach nineteen, and then it's time for Specs to ask the last question.
[SPECS' POV]
This date is going... surprisingly well. Sure, we haven't done much besides ask each other random questions, but still.Romeo's asked his ten questions, and I've only asked nine.
What should I ask for my last question?I clear my throat.
"So, uh, you said you were pan, right?" I ask him.Romeo nods.
"Have you ever kissed anybody before?"
Romeo shakes his head.
"No, but I wish I could. I'd love to kiss you, Specs."I turn red.
Shit! Specs, what kind of question was that???"What, you wasn't expectin' that?" Romeo asks me.
"I-I... no. It just... ugh. Just... go ahead and kiss me..."
Romeo chuckles.
"My pleasure, handsome."Then, before I can stop him, Romeo quickly wraps his arms around me and places his lips on mine.
I kiss him back gently, not knowing if I should be shocked or just embrace it.
Romeo then pulls away, smiling his ass off.
I scratch the back of my head, my face still red.
"So, uh... now what?"Romeo shrugs, replying, "Eh, I dunno. Whaddya wanna do, Specs?".
"We could talk some more, I guess?" I suggest.
Romeo nods.
"So, how's your day been?"I shrug.
"It's been fine. It got better when you contacted me earlier. How's yours been?""It's been pretty good, thank you."
I smile. Me and Romeo are actually getting along pretty well. Romeo seems to be the romantic type, but it's a good thing he's not going overboard.
I adjust my glasses a bit. Then I look into Romeo's warm brown eyes. His eyes happily glance into mine.
"What pretty blue eyes you have," Romeo says.
"Thanks, Romeo," I reply.
"Everybody always focuses on my namesake specs and never on my eyes.""How dare they. Those glasses of yours shouldn't be your defining factor."
I notice Romeo's socks. They're red and blue striped, going up to his calves.
"Those are some interesting socks," I tell him."Thanks, Specs!" says Romeo.
"I love collecting socks. I have at least fifty different pairs. These ones are my favorites."I chuckle.
"Well, everybody has their weird habit of collecting random things. For you, it's socks, and that's fine."Romeo takes off my glasses, putting them on himself.
"How do I look, Specs?""Blurry," I reply.
Romeo chuckles, quickly giving them back to me. I put my glasses back on, lightly smiling at him.
"I'se havin' fun bein' here with you," Romeo tells me.
I nod.
"Me too, Romeo."|A/N| Heya, friends! Sorry this chapter is late. I've been busy. Also, today is my birthday! I'm fourteen now!
