Sittin here thinkin'

Lettin' my thoughts take over...

Was it ever real? Was I drivin?

Or was I bein' schauffered?

Thought I had control,

But the wheel wasn't in my hand.

I was on the passenger side,

Car wasn't movin', I was just sittin' cause I couldn't stand.

But back then in my thoughts,

I was led to believe,

That I was soarin' through the clouds,

Out on one of my many journeys.

No rain, just sunshine,

In my horizon.

No clouds in my view,

No thunder or lightnin'.

But I noticed in the small print,

On my review.

It says,"objects may be closer than they appear."

That's when I noticed you.

The storm.

Brewing dark on my perfect day.

Came into view,

And swept my sunshine away.

Clouds gathered, lightning struck,

And thunder roared.

I tried the wipers they helped a bit,

but the rain poured.

A warning broadcast,

announced a tornado.

But there was no were to run,

Where would I go?

I pulled a shoulder,

to get off the road.

I got out in the rain,

it was sooo cold.

The only safety I could find,

was a deep rooted tree.

I grabbed on and said a prayer,

that I make it out safely.

You came through.

A devastating disaster.

Destroyed a bit much,

Your memories a laster.

But through it all I learned to let go and fight the perfect storm.

I'm Stronger Now..
