A/N: Even though I said before that there's no set cast, I still picture Alex Pettyfer as Dante. Granted I know he doesn't personally have dark hair like Dante nor blue eyes but every time I write, I just see him. ^_^ He's just so swoon worthy.

Next chapter will finally be from Kat's POV.

Jared Norvak meets us inside near the entrance of the police station, while impatiently bouncing on his toes.

"Finally! What took you two so damn long?" he asks annoyed in his strong Scottish accent and begins making his way towards the back of the station.

"Hey Jared calm down. Dante was spending time with Joseph," Jax playfully shoves at Jared's muscular arm.

"Oh. Well, sorry to interrupt your special time with your son but I figured you'd want to hear what I have to tell you," he looks at me apologetically and opens a door that leads to one of the interrogation rooms.

"This better be good for the way you're hyping this up," I tease him and take a seat in one of the chairs at the table.

"Oh trust me, it is," he nods and takes the folder that was in his hand and slams it on the table in front of me.

I look down at it perplexed and shrug my shoulders at him, silently asking what's this about. He rolls his eyes and opens up the folder for me. The folder is filled with numerous reports and sketches of a blonde woman in a mask.

There's a hint of familiarity in her appearance but I don't think anything of it at the time.

"What's this?" I ask him without reading through the reports. I didn't come here to read shit.

"Okay so get this, about a month and a half ago I started getting reports about random Underworlder attacks. Not your typical ones but ones similar to the attacks from six months ago that Jason Fitzgerald was behind. I started to think that maybe it was a copycat, someone trying to take his place, make a name for themselves. So I kept an eye out for it until about three weeks ago when I had an older lady and her grandchildren come running in here claiming that some girl saved them from a demon attack."

"They were humans so I thought it strange. Why would a normal demon attack a human? That was until I went back to the scene of the crime and found the bodies. They were definitely Rogues, you could tell by their appearance. I had my nephew Cameron come with me to inspect the bodies and the wounds on them were similar to those of the previous attacks six months. However, these wounds were meticulous. Whoever was doing this was a professional. I was seriously confused that whoever was doing the attacks originally is now what, saving humans instead when they were originally using humans to posses for the attacks?" he paces back and forth with enthusiasm.

"Eventually even more witnesses were coming in, claiming to be saved by this woman. They call her The Black Cat," he looks at me like I should be amused or something.

"The Black Cat huh? Let me guess, cause she wears a cat mask?" Jax laughs, taking a look at the file himself.

"Sure. But they also say she's got feline like reflexes and movements. And get this, she's using Templar weapons," he looks between Jax and I. "Who would be that agile while using those? We haven't come across anyone like that, not like the attacks before," he explains with crossed arms, resting his case.

I know of only one person but it can't be her. I buried her five months ago.

When I take the file from Jax, I look at the sketches of the woman again. This woman has blonde hair that stops at her shoulders and can't tell anything else about her from that since she's wearing a hood and a mask that covers her eyes and half of her face.

"So any leads on who this girl is? Also, why is this important to me?" I ask finally after laying the file down.

"Because there's also a report about a man that's been spotted at some of the earlier attacks, the ones before this Black Cat got involved. Also, the appearance that was given—it sounds just like Jason. Tall, African, British accent," he looks at me expectantly and I shake my head.

"They both died in that explosion. Remember the bodies? Even the coroner confirmed it was them Jared. I'd love to think that maybe, some how, that Kat survived and is still alive somewhere but I can't do that to myself anymore. I can't go through the denial anymore," I explain and can feel my heart tightening just thinking about all the pain and heartbreak I went through that first week when I couldn't even get out of bed.

"I understand that Dante and I'm not saying that it is Jason and that Kat is still alive, it's just a coincidence is all. I just thought you'd want to know. Plus I promised to keep you guys informed on anything that was related to attacks using Templar weapons," he smiles sheepishly at me and runs his hand on the back of his neck.

"Thanks, I appreciate it. I don't want to see what happened before, with all the innocent killings," I shake my head and lean my elbows on the table, my face in my hands.

"Neither do I," he nods his head and takes a seat at the chair across from me.

"So have you met this Black Cat yet? Or talked to her?" Jax asks as he leans against the wall, arms crossed.

"Met her, no, not in person. But I have talked to her on the phone. Her voice is changed so no one can tell who it is and the call is always done with a burner phone so can't trace it either. Usually she'll just call long enough to inform me about an attack before it happens and by the time I show up, she's already taken care of it and the victims are fine. The perp is wounded and tied up and the victims are waiting for me and my men to get there. The first few I found of perps were dead but the witnesses say it was self-defense for her. Every one of the witnesses say she's saved them and helped them. That she isn't a bad guy," he looks back and forth between Jax and me, observing our reactions to the intel.

"So wait, she's warning you ahead of time? Why not stop it before it even begins?" I ask. Why go through all the trouble of informing the police, Jared Norvak of all of the officers, when she can just stop it before it happens and no one would be the wiser.

"I think because she's in on the intel. Like she knows who's personally responsible but can't stop them herself," he explains deep in thought.

"Or doesn't want to. Maybe this is how she gets off. Stage the crime and come in as the hero," Jax laughs and shakes his head.

"You mean like a hero complex? Nah, if that were the case, why would she hide her identity? Why hide her voice? If she had a hero complex she'd make sure everyone knew who she was to gloat in the glory," he scoffs at Jax's accusation. He's right though. I don't think she has a hero complex.

"Maybe she's doing it because she knows who it is but is under cover? Like making the one in charge think she's on his side but going in and stoping it when it begins," I suggest.

"I was thinking the same thing. And if that's the case, pretty soon she won't be able to fool the guy in charge and her life could be in danger," Jared furrows his brows with worry.

He is right. If she is working undercover, sooner or later the one behind all of this will put two and two together and she could be signing her own death wish.

As I'm about to get up and head home, I let him know to keep me informed on the situation and if anything else comes of it. Sooner or later, this Black Cat is going to need help.

Just as I reach the door, it swings open and Jared's partner Kate is standing in the doorway, out of breath.

"Jared, there's a phone call for you. It's the Black Cat and she says it's an urgent matter and can't wait," she nearly faints she's so winded.

Without another word, Jared grabs the file and motions for Jax and me to follow him to his desk for this emergency phone call from this mystery woman.
