S E V E N : B L O N D E G O D D E S S"Come on Dante, go out with us tonight, just us guys. We need to do it before Jax's spawn pops out and he no longer can go have fun with us," Mickey whines as we walk back from our morning run.
Usually we'd run but Mickey is not the athletic type and we're lucky he even made it to the pier before having to stop so he could catch his breath.
"I don't know. I could be spending time with Joseph," I shrug and place my hands on the back of my head as I stretch.
"Don't use the kid as an excuse. Look I'm not asking you to hook up with some random chick, because I know you won't. But you seriously need to get out of the house and have a life again. Kat would want that," he throws out and I glare at him for using the Kat card on me. No shame Mickey, no shame.
"He's right Dante. It's not healthy. For neither you or Joseph," Jax smacks my back and grins at me.
"Oh not you too," I groan and shake my head.
"Don't get pouty mate. We are just looking out for you. Who knows, maybe you'll find the next girl of your dreams, one that can help you heal," he smiles at me and I roll my eyes.
"Highly doubt that. No one could nor will ever replace her," I point at him with authority. He laughs at me with his hands held up defensively. After a moment of consideration, I finally give in with a groan. "Fine! I'll go with you. But I'm not getting shit faced. One of us has to be the responsible one tonight," I chuckle and playfully smack Mickey, our little trouble maker, on the back of the head.
"Oh knock it off, I'm not that bad," he pouts and starts to slow down his pace. "Okay one of you needs to carry me back, I can't take anymore!" he cries out obnoxiously and holds his arms out like a baby.
"We only have another mile to go mate!" Jax laughs so hard he buckles over, holding his stomach.
"You guys are arses! Kat would carry me if she was here," he cuts his eyes at us and I nearly knock his lights out.
"Not fair. A major low blow using her as an example," I growl and kneel down while he climbs on my back.
"Wait, what makes you think Kat would carry you?" Jax asks once he's stopped laughing.
"Because she did it once before," Mickey boasts as he wraps his thin arms around my shoulders.
"What!? You made my girlfriend carry your lazy ass back after a run?" I immediately drop him on his ass and turn on him. Mickey grimaces as he rubs his ass while attempting to stand back up.
"She offered! I couldn't tell her no. You know that!" he pouts and I can see tears welling up in his eyes as he remembers a time when she was still around, making me instantly feel bad.
"You're right. Sorry about that mate," I pat his shoulder and lock him in a head lock while I ruffle the curly hairs of his faux hawk, attempting to make him feel better.
"So tell me, what are the plans for tonight?" I ask and Mickey instantly lights up with excitement.
When it comes time for us to leave for the club hours later, I'm really regretting accepting to go. I don't want to deal with the crowd of drunks and kids hopped up on 'X,' looking for a good time.
As I step through the club doors, I get hit with nostalgia of when we came here for Kat's twenty-first birthday. I'm dressed in my usual attire, black jeans, black shirt, boots, the Sexy Dante Look as Kat would call it. The same look that would drive her crazy with desire.
