F I V E : R E DTHREE WEEKS LATER—
We are standing outside an old abandoned warehouse downtown when Jason goes over once more, the plan for this mission. It's suppose to be a quick and easy sweep.
"Inside is a hive of Rogue demons that need to be taken care of. They're terrorizing innocent humans and must be handled, the local police can't get a hold on it. Apparently the demon clans don't want to get involved, otherwise they'd intervene by now. Typical of Underworlders," he scoffs but I can't help but notice the underlining humor in his expression as his lips slide curl up in the corners.
I quickly check over my gear to make sure everything is in its place. My blade is ready in my pocket and my knuckle dusters are tightly snuggled on my hand, fingers laced through the holes. I reach up and adjust my hood over my head to cover most of my face.
Jason had told me to wear this hoodie to hide my appearance when we first started three weeks ago. I don't know why, we never leave any survivors when we hit a hive.
"Let's go," he grins and we make our way into the warehouse through a side entrance.
I notice two Rogues ahead of me with their backs to me. They're talking amongst each other and laughing. Perfect. They'll never see this coming.
With a quick motion I walk behind my first target, grabbing the side of his face from behind and slit his throat with my blade. Before the other demon can react, I twirl the blade in my hand by the hilt and stab him in the temple.
Two down, ten more to go.
I quietly open the metal door in front of me and take care of the rogue standing guard right outside it. My motions are quick and precise.
No survivors.
I was shocked the first time I killed a demon with my blade. Not because I killed someone, but because it came so naturally to me. It was like my body moved on its own without me having to tell it.
I creep slowly around a crate of what looks like is holding some kind of drug paraphernalia. Probably meth. Most Rogues like to deal in it, to lure the humans in. A junkie is an easy target for a Rogue demon.
There's two more men ahead of me and I quickly take them out. I look behind me and my brother is gone. No matter, I can handle this myself and he's probably taking care of some others in another location. However, now that I think of it, usually I'm the one doing all the hard work. It's probably just for extra training for me.
One man is standing on top of one of the crates ahead of me and I quickly jump up and pull him down on the ground, my hand over his mouth. Usually my strength, I wrap my hands around his face and twist his neck. Gently, I lay him down on the ground to not make any noticeable sounds.
Quick, quiet, leave no survivors.
As I make my way further into the center of the room, I notice a group of four men in a circle, surrounding something and two more men stand near the front entrance.
