If love was the best reason to stay
Then why does saying 'I love you' drive you away
Maybe I misinterpreted, maybe I wanted too much
And now, our fates turned out as such.

Friendship was nice, it was refreshing, simple – but then, envy.
Spite was all I felt as I saw you in another's embrace
