A candle flickered in the middle of the table, illuminating her face, casting shadows across her face. Soft violins played in the background. She was beautiful. Her long hair was pulled into a ponytail that hung at her back.
"And then the electron said 'I'm choosing to think positive'!"
She laughed really hard. She shook her head, her face filled with glee. I can't believe she hadn't heard that one before.
She twirled a long piece of the angel hair in feddichini sauce.
"What do you do for a living, Spencer?" Carter asked. I thought about that. If it were anyone else, I'd just say 'The government'. She's different.
"I work for the FBI."
A smile spread across her face.
"That's amazing! I actually wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the agent that saved my life. Do you know- never mind. It's a big world."
She told me a little bit about her past, and in return I told her about some of mine.
"I can't even describe how I feel when I'm with you. It's something that I can't describe." I started.
"Then don't, just feel." And we grasped hands.
"I don't know all about you. I don't know what our future means. I don't know a lot of things Carter, but I do know one thing for certain. I am utterly, completely, and madly in love with you."
