Aubrey took a seat next to us and looked real hard at my book.
I finished my homework with August and started getting ready to go.
"Damn, where is he?" I said looking to see if I saw Aubrey.
"He's over there on the phone." August said eating some chips.
"Oh, I'll just wait until he's done. I don't want to bother him."
"Is that your boyfriend?" He asked eating more chips.
"No, he's a friend."
August nodded.
"So how are you going to do your powerpoint that's due tomorrow?" He asked.
"Oh." I pulled out my laptop. "I started it already."
he looked over my shoulder.
"That's what's up." He came and sat by me as we discussed some stuff about my powerpoint.
"You're really good at this shit." We laughed and looked at eachother.
Aubrey came up clearing his throat and putting his phone in his pocket. I looked up at him and put my laptop away and picked up my things as August helped me a little.
"Thanks for the help Melanie." He sat back in his seat and watched us walk off.
Me and Aubrey got in the car and he sped off.
"Are you okay?" I asked looking at him.
"Yeah." He sighed. "So you like him?"
I scrunched up my face. "Who, August? We have a class together."
"My bad for asking. I know you're single. I just..." he stopped.
"You're just what?" I asked.
"Nothing." He shook his head and pulled up to my house.
"Thanks for the ride." I gave him a hug hoping it would make him feel a little better.
He smiled but then frowned when he looked over at my house. I looked to see Trey sitting on the porch watching us. Dang, he couldn't wait.
"I'll see you later." Aubrey said kissing my forehead.
