I was walking to smalls house after baseball practice and I notice there are a bunch of boys talking in his room. I can see them through the window. The sandlot boys?! Man my best friends having a party and I didn't even know about it. I go up to his room since his parents kind of just let us in all the time anyway. I go up to his room and then I hear mad talking in his room. I stay near the doorway so I could hear what they were discussing. "I cannot believe you...UGH!!!" Yells Benny. "Benny man I'm sorry..." Smalls chockes out. I feel my heart drop. Smalls is my boy friend of two years. I felt awful. I almost walked in when I heard Denunez say "you can't cheat on a girl and expect her to love you." I felt my heart stop. "Smalls cheated on me?" I say out loud. There was a sense of tenseness. Benny slowly opened the door wider and the whole sandlot crew stared at me. I felt hot tears streaming down my face. "Who?" I said sternly. Smalls came into view. He had tears running down his face. He looked down. "Yeah yeahs sister.." he said. I felt my heart drop. "My boy friend and my best friend. Yea ok whatever..." I say taking off running. I stop at the sound of my necklace. I look down at the locket Smalls had gotten me for our year anniversary. I rip it off of my neck and throw it down a nearby well. I fall to the ground sobbing. I look in the distance and see a small bridge with a river flowing under it. I look done open the rapids. I feel like I should be in that water. Like it will stop all pain. I run towards it almost falling over the edge when a pair of strong arms grab my waist and we both fall back. "What the fuck?!" Yells Phillips. I look at him in shock. "Why did you save me?" I ask still looking at the running water. "Cause you could have died!"He said scared. He looked genuinely scared. "Thank you." I say getting closer to him. He sterns up a bit and nods. What just happened.
