I was walking towards the sandlot. I had a lot of things on my mind that day see we were having a game against Phillips. I was really nervous because stupid yeah yeah never knows when to shut up! But here is how it happened....
[yesterday]
I was in the dugout taking selfies with my broski kenny for my Instagram. "Man I don't know how you can still look good after playing baseball for seven hours." Yeah Yeah said actually thinking about how I did it. "Maybe I'm just naturally cuter than you?" I say acting dumb. Squints bursts out laughing. I wink and smile at Yeah Yeah. He rolls his eyes playfully. "Benny man pass me my bag will ya?" I ask Benny. He was sitting closest to my bag so I asked him. He nodded and threw my bag at me without saying a word. "What's wrong Benny man? Cat got your tongue?" Asks Bertram. "I guess.." Benny Says. He hasn't been himself lately. "You got to be kidding with me..." I say snarling. I see them coming .. Phillips team. I get up from the dug out. The boys following after me. We meet Phillips at the center of the field. "Well well we'll... why isn't it Phillips our favorite person in the whole wide world! Are you here to wipe the dirt off our cleats? Cause if you aren't then I don't think you should be here." I say acting all innocently. "Man your lucky your gorgeous.." He says seeming angry. "Well actually I came here to talk to you my love..." he says to me. I frown. "About?" I ask. "In private." He says motioning towards the boys. "Whatever you want to say to my broski you can say to us!" Kenny said putting a fist to his chest. I smile at them and return to Phillips gaze. " I want to take you out on a date." He says to me with a dark gaze. Yeah yeah bursts out laughing. "Man you really are an idiot!" He says laughing. "Benny man called dibs on her a long time ago!!" He says still laughing. Benny slaps his arm and becomes very serious. I was shocked at what was going on. "Well then you are even more valuable to me..." Phillips says. "I'm not going with you..." I say sternly. "How about a bet.." Phillips says. "Keep talking.." Squints Says sterling closer. "Game tomorrow... we win I get you till I say so... you win I can't bother you freaks til next summer." He says. "Man deal!!" Says squints. "WHAT?!" I say. Phillips laughs and rides off. "You really just sold me out like that?!" I say with a mad but shaky voice. The boys become serious. "No." Benny Says. I turn to look at him. "We are not loosing you. At least it not without a fight." He says. I smile and hug Benny tightly. The guys cheer and begin walking home discussing the game plan. "Hey Benny can we go to the x spot real quick?" I say to him. "Sure." He says. The x spot was a little abandoned cabin we had found one day when me and Benny were alone hiking. We have gone there ever since. But only we know about it. We walked the whole time in silence. We finally arrived. We walk to edge where we could sit watching the sunset. "So benny man?..." I say. "Yeah?" "Do you really like me?" Silence. "I've liked you since the second i laid my eyes on you." Silence again. I couldn't believe the one and only The Jet liked me. I heard him sigh and start to get up. But before he could I grabbed him by the collar and pulled him on top of me and we kissed passionately. We melted into each other for what felt forever . We finally pull away. "I've liked you for as long as I can remember..." I say smiling. He smiled. "Will you be my girl?" He asks. I nod and straddle his lap and begin to kiss him passionately again. Gosh how much I love this boy...
[back to present moment]
I had finally arrived to the sandlot. I saw Benny talking to the boys. I approach them and hug Benny from behind. I kiss his jaw like and sit on Kenny's lap. "Move your heavy!" Kenny says laughing. He pushes me on to yeah Yeahs lap. I laugh and just sit on the floor. We talk game for a little bit. Then we see Phillips and his team pull in. "Are you ready ?" Phillips Asks. "Yes." I say.
The game lasted hours. But finally we were tied and this was the last homer that we needed to get so we could win. And I was batting. I was a nervous wreck but I had to do this for Benny. I stood at home plate. I see Benny run towards me. I get out of stance to see why he had ran towards me. "I want you to relax. I will always love you... and here's something for good luck." He says. He then lifts up my chin and gives me a gentle kiss. We pull away smiling. I shake off my nerves as Benny runs back to third center. I exhale heavily. I look at Phillips and nod. He whines up and pitches. I hit his heater with every last bit of strength I had. Once I heard the WACK I ran. I ran to all three bases but then I saw player about to throw the ball to home and I dove for home. .. silence. SAFE!
I get up happily jumping. The boys all surround me and hugging me. I smile and start walking toward Benny. "You did it.."he says smiling. "Yea I did..." I said. We pulled in closer and kissed with a million fireworks.
Narrators POV
"Well ham it looks like there is a new addition to the sandlot boys..."Says squints. Ham thinks. "Who?"he says. Squints returns his gaze to Benny and Y/N... "the jets flash."
