"It won't be so bad..I promise." Says my mom. I roll my eyes and stare out the window. I never believe those words and especially not from my mom. Ever since my dad died she's been hoping around city's and states. But she said she's for sure she wants to stay in Salt Lake City. I don't believe her. She tells me that every time. I get to make friends and I end up leaving them. It sucks. I've been on so many baseball teams I swear I've heard every tip and trick and style. I've always wanted to play for the little leagues...but it's kind of hard when your not for sure staying with a team! Honestly I don't even plan on making friends this year. I'll just do what I normally do. Wait till the next city. I walk into the school. It looks average. Everyone looks so nicely dressed. I feel a bit embarrassed. I'm just wearing a black crop top with my favorite baseball jersey and some jean shorts. I see a bunch of kids everywhere. I walk into the main office and see a kid with a black eye trying to hold onto a solar system display. I chuckle but as soon as I do the project slips from his hands. I swiftly grab it just in time and fall to the ground. I sigh in relief. "Man you gotta be careful man." I say getting up. He sighs. "Thank you so much! I don't know what I would have done had this baby busted ten minutes before presentations." He said. I chuckled. "Well I gotta get going but I'll see ya later kid." I say winking at him. He smiles and walks away. I walk up to the office and smile at the lady. "Hi I would like to-" I say. She interrupts me by saying "nameeeeee". It's going to be one of THOSE days ain't it... I walk to my first period. I walk into a classroom full of kids and projects everywhere. The teachers spots me walking in and smiles. "Hello dear in just a moment I'll introduce you." She says. I smile and nod. I place my bag on the floor next to me and shove my hands in my pockets. I look around and smile. This classroom was better than the last one.
Benny's POV
"Smalls what do you mean you almost killed our project?!" I say trying to keep my cool. "Yeah Yeah you want us to get in trouble?!" Says Yeah Yeah. Smalls looks upset. "So who did you say saved the project?" Asks denunez. Smalls looks up and a ridiculously big smile plastered onto his face. A wave of confusion hit me. What in the name of god dam strike outs is he staring at. "Her! She's really cool! She's the new kid!" Smalls said walking to the front of the class. Me and Yeah Yeah and denunez exchange confused looks. We all looked to where Smalls had walked to and I felt my heart drop. I saw the prettiest girl at the front of the class. "Man she sure is.." denunez Said. Followed by Yeah Yeah saying "..hot". Which they weren't lying. She is so hot. And I noticed a dodgers baseball jersey on her. Man even hotter. Smalls and her exchange a quick hug and he walks back over to us. "Man how come you didn't tell us she was hot?!" Yeah Yeah Said slapping Smalls on the chest. Smalls frowns and says "I didn't think you guys would be interested." I roll my eyes and look back at her. She was bitting her lip and looking around. Man was she cute. "Alright class time to introduce our new student." Says the teacher. I turn my desk and look up at her. We made eye contact. I felt electricity shoot through my body. "Grace why don't you tell us about yourself." The teacher says. Grace steps closer to the front and smiles. "Well my names grace. I'm a cheerleader and I play baseball. I'm a guitar player and a bit of a nerd." She says slightly laughing at the last part. Her laugh makes me weak. "Well why don't you sit next to Benjamin , he will happily tour you around." She says directing her hand towards me. My heart stops. She happily grabs her bag and walks over to the seat next to me. She smiles and waved at me. I waved back and blushed. Man talk about a hell of a girl..
[Time Skip To Lunch]
Your POV
"Man your telling me you all were scared straight of a dog for almost twelve years?!" I say giggling. "Man shut up!" Says Yeah Yeah shoving me playfully. We kept talking for a long time until I got up to throw my tray. I was walking and I felt a foot in front of mine and I jumped over it to avoid falling. I look back to see a kid from my class. "Hey be careful kid" I say. As I was throwing my tray I felt a force pull my hair back and I was slammed into the ground. The kid from earlier and his friends were laughing at me. Until I saw the boys and they started beating at him. I got up and threw a few punches myself. They eventually left. But the blond kid stayed behind and said "YOUR WORTHLESS ANYWAY!! STAY WITH YOUR SANDLOT FREAKS!!!" He yelled and left. I sighed out loud. "Hey as long as your with us your be ok promise" I sigh and look Benny deep in the eyes. "How do you know that? I'm the new kid" I say. "It won't be so bad.. I promise." He said. For the first time in a long time I trusted those words. I nodded and hugged him. And then eventually all the guy were hugging me. "Ok let's get out of here before the teachers find us!" Said squints. We all laugh and take off. But I was stopped by an arm sneaking around my waist. I look back to see Benny he was looking deep into my eyes. I laughed. "What's wrong Benny?" I asked. He leaned in and kissed me. And so did i. We kept at it. He pulled me closer and I wrapped my arms around his head. He finally pulled away smiling. He looked down at the ground blushing. "I like you Rodriguez" I said smirking. "I like you too grace" he said. He laughed and took off running. I laughed and took off after him. Darn you Rodriguez.
