Mackenna's POV

Having Angelo sit next to me was really difficult. My heart wouldn't stop pounding in my chest and he wouldn't stop talking to me. I had no idea how his homework fell under my desk but I knew I wasn't the one who destroyed it.

Literature was over and I was relieved. Angelo got up and so did I.

"Mr. Carden, Miss Edwards, please come over." The teacher called. Angelo walked ahead of me while I walked behind him to the teacher's desk.

I stood next to Angelo, holding my one arm while I stared at the teacher.

"Miss Edwards you performed poorly in your assignment." He tsked. I blushed embarrassed because Angelo to was standing there. And why should you care?

I bit the inside of my cheek as I avoided Angelo's gaze as I concentrated on the teacher.

"Would you mind if Mr. Carden tutors you?" He asked.

Damnit.

"Sir..um.." I hummed.

"Or would you prefer Mr. Saime?" He asked nodding behind me. I turned to see Huxley sitting on at his desk with his legs crossed on the table as he looked at me with a sly smirk.

"But I think Mr. Carden would be better since he scored the highest." He suggested. I bit my lip and wished I could blurt out curse words at him.

It took a while. I didn't speak. I couldn't speak. I didn't want to speak.

"Hurry up Miss Edwards or I'll choose one for you." Mr. Jurado snapped.

"Mr. Carden it is." He concluded and I growled inwardly.

"The two of you can dismiss." He informed and I didn't waste time to grab my back and dash the hell out of class. I walked straight over to my locker, ignoring whoever the fuck was following me.

"You know.." A deep voice said beside and I furiously turned to glower at Huxley.

"I can tutor better than Angelo." He countered stepping towards me.

"And your consent was asked by?" I countered folding my arms.

"Look, the guy broke your heart without a second thought and if he's to tutor you, you'll get more hurt." He reasoned placing his hands on my upper arms.

He was right. It would be difficult to concentrate.

"What are you doing?" I asked wriggling out of his hold.

"Oh come on.." He scoffed approaching me. He cupped my cheeks and started to lean into to me and I wish someone would punch him in the face.

I sighed in relief when Collins fulfilled my wish unknowingly.

"Can't you keep your dirty hands to yourself for a change?" He roared. Huxley raised up his hand in surrender and started walking backwards and he run away.

I gasped when Collins embraced me in a hug and I also hugged him back. Our embrace was short when we heard a loud slam onto a locker.

I broke away from Collins to see Angelo who had his arm folded above his head, and his fist to his chest. His jaw was ticking, clenching and unclenching.

But why would he be angry?  I thought he said he doesn't like me anymore so why should he be concerned?

"Mr. Jurado decided to make my life miserable." I sighed sitting down.

"So what did he do?" Angela asked taking a bite of her taco.

"Can you belive he said Angelo should tutor me?" I asked.

"Yeah I can, that boy is good in literature." Pamela mumbled.

"Guys don't you get it?  I'm trying to ignore him but every time I try to ignore him, something had to bring us together." I groaned.

"Because you two are meant for each other." Angela patted my back.

"Has he apologised though?" Pamela asked.

"Yeah." I grumbled.

"Why haven't you forgiven him then?" Angela asked.

"Come on guys." I scoffed. "It's not like he felt sorry, he would probably misunderstand me another time and then dump me for Jania." I said.

"Can you guys actually believe he gave the bracelet he bought for me to Jania?" I asked feeling lumpy in my throat.

"He doesn't deserve my forgiveness." I announced got up and sauntered out of the cafeteria only to find Angelo coming my way.

Ugh why is my life like this?

I bowed my head and and was about to walk past him but he gently gripped my arm, making my heart accelerate in my chest.

"What do you want?" I demanded moving to stand in front of him. I jerked my hand out of his hold and passed him an unfriendly look.

"The..um.." He stuttered scratching the  nape of his neck. My face was straight as I looked at him.

"What time do you um.." He began.

"Look, if you don't have anything you want to say, then bye." I said. But he gripped my arm before I could bolt.

"The tutoring...what time do you want to you know um..meet.." He asked.

"Six thirty pm. At your place." I said. "Now let go of me." I demanded but he gave me a pleading look.

"Angelo!" A girly squeal reached my ears. Ugh Jania.

She wrapped her arms around his bicep and Angelo didn't even bother to wriggle her off. In fact he let go of my arm.

"Thanks for the bracelet once again. I loved it." She said and I walked past them. The thought of the bracelet made mean tears prickle my eyes but I knew better than to let them fall.
