Burned

“How?! How did you know?” Edward asked furiously.

“That’s none of your business!” An unknown speaker bellowed.

“It is my business! She is my mate!” Edward spat, getting more furious by the second.

“Hahaha! Mate? You’re no longer her mate Edward! You left her!” The shadow laughed, rather amused.

“I know, and that was the worst mistake I’ve ever made… She can hate me, but I’d rather that than see her dead! I love her! I still do! And I don’t regret a single thing!” Edward said, pain leaking his tone.

The voice laughed humorlessly, “Aww… too bad you won’t be able to inform her… boys inject him.” Almost immediately five vampires swarmed him and injected something on his arms and legs… including his neck.

“Argh!!!” Edward howled in pain. The pain was unbearable.

“Roer! Finish him! He’s no use!”

A rather bulky guy entered the room, he approached Edward. He picked him up and sneered at him, but as he looked into his eyes he felt reluctant… like Edward was someone close to him.

“What’s the matter?! Kill him!” The shadow yelled.

Roer looked at the shadow’s direction and back at Edward… He was confused. To kill or not to kill.

 “NOW!”

Roer felt dizzy but as the shadow shrieked, fear kicked in.

He punched and kicked non-stop. He punches so hard, that Emmett might be put to shame. After an hour of screams of agony and laughs of amusement, a torch was lit.

“Enough! Time to end what he started.”

Roer stood aside, making Edward visible.

He looked awful. Two enormous black eyes shadowed his eyes like a mask. His limbs looked like they were dangling… or maybe they were. His eyes were close due to the amount of pain he is currently experiencing. He almost looked… dead.

“Burn him Roer!”

Roer made his way towards Edward with the torch in his hand.

“D-Don’t…” Edward begged.

Roer bent down inching the torch closer towards Edward. But before he burnt him, two words slipped his mouth, “I’m Sorry.”

The fire spread fast, in seconds Edward was close to oblivion. He wanted to hold on, but he can’t, not anymore. Before his body turned to ashes, his last words were, “I love you Bella.”
