Abdul and his wife leaned over the kitchen sink, and stared through a small window. There was nothing but infinite blackness beyond the glass.

“Are you sure it’s already morning?” He asked his wife.
“Yes. I’ve checked my phone. It’s already eight in the morning!” She yelled, almost sobbing. Nani never felt scared like this in her entire life. The whole neighborhood, perhaps the whole country was engulfed in darkness.

“What is going on?” Abdul tried calling the authorities. There was nothing, not even a tone.

He checked his clock on the phone, anbd his wife was right.

Then there was a loud bellow. The whole house shook; the floor and the walls trembled, and the glasses and plates rattled in the shelves.

A white slit appeared in the sky, and then it expanded, revealing a colossal bloodshot eye. The pupil darted downward and pierced through Abdul and Nani’s souls.
