“They’re all dead!” Professor Edwin was screaming when security escorted him out of the facility. Everyone watched on as he was taken away inside an ambulance. I was tasked to clear his office in the observatory.
His notes were scattered on his work table. A piece of crumpled paper caught my attention. ‘The dark is spreading’ were scribbled on top of the paper.
I read the rest:
“At first, I thought the black spot beyond the Eagle Nebula sector was just an empty space where no stars were visible. I kept on observing for months. The black patch expands over time! It looked like a dense nebula blocking the stars. But the truth is much worse. The stars are dying! One by one shutting off like light bulbs,”There was a commotion outside the window. I peeked out. The sky was getting darker because the sun itself faded into oblivion.
