Wrong Station

There were only a few people besides Sarah on the last train. She fell asleep as soon as she sat down. The rocking motion of the coach lullabied her even deeper.

She woke up with a jerk when an ear-piercing feedback blared through the speakers. The coach was empty. She craned her neck and saw the station sign. Sarah scurried out into an empty platform. It was eerily quiet except for her echoing footsteps against the hallway tiles.

Then she noticed a shadow coming from a corner up ahead.

“Thank God,” She whispered; she’s not alone.

Her whole body froze when a figure emerged from the corner. The thing was skeletal thin and it was crawling on all fours. The head, with a human face, hanged upside down from its slender neck.

The ungodly creature cocked its head and spoke in a whispery voice.

“You’re not supposed to be here,”
