*Samar's point of view*

'The lines of your hand tell my tale'

We heard the screech of tyres in front of the house and went out.
It was Sally and Ray.

I rushed out but then remembered our fight. Sally didn't move to hug me either. She pursed her lips

"We raided the Wander mansion and got most of them but still mo clue of Arlo or Amay."

"But how would you get any witnesses, no one would testify against him" Paul asked.

"One of the families of the village who were blackmailed into selling their mansion are willing and we also have Merachant's mole, though we are keeping his involvement under the wraps." She shared a look with Ray.

"What about you guys? Any lead on where might they be?" Ray asked us.

"No, but I think Arlo might be more involved in this than we thought." Paul replied. I looked at him.

It was true. No matter how much I try to deny it, Arlo was helping Wander.

Ray clenched his fist. "None of the rats knew anything about them either. Wander kept it all to himself"

My heart was beating itself sick with worry and guilt.

"That psychopath! God help..." Paul started and suddenly, Sally turned so fastly to look at me that it was a wonder that she didn't get a whiplash

In that second, I understood.

"The church!" both of us shouted at the same time and Ray almost jumped.

"Bleeding gargoyles! No need to give me a heart attack!"

But, that was it! They must be there. Even though I didn't want to set myself up for dejection, I felt hope rise within me.

"But isn't the church a busy place? If they were there, someone must have seen them, right?" I looked at them.

"Only one way to find." Paul answered and we nodded.

"Wait! We don't even know what we are dealing with. We should plan, we can't go in blind." Sally shrieked.

"Now, listen here, if you think I am going to waste any more time---" Ray started.

"No! She is right!" I blurted and Sally looked at me, surprised.

"I don't fucking care! I don't give a rat's ass about what you think Clay. I don't care even if he has an army with him, I am going to save my brother, whether any of you are coming or not!" Ray spat.

"I am coming too, you asshole! I am just.." I said and looked at Sally desperately.

"It's fine, you guys go find them. I will go bring reinforcements." Sally ordered and I moved towards her but she already turned towards the car.

"Just..go!!!!" She shouted and we all started running, Ray leading the way.

Please let them be safe, God. I prayed. Finally, we reached the church, the impressive building with it's spires and engravings brought back so many memories.
