*Amay's point of view*

"Ka..Karim?"

I didn't know what to think. I was sure he was not real, I saw his bullet laden body myself. He can't be here. He just can't! I closed my eyes and opened them again. He was still there.

Was it an apparition? But then he took a step forward and I released breath. It wasn't him. He just looked like Karim. He was younger. A cousin, perhaps? But how come Ray never told me about him?

I opened my mouth to ask him if he was here looking for Ray but then someone else made their way inside and I felt my insides twirl.

A mop of curly blonde hair and those creepy blue eyes made their way inside. A few more lines were etched on his face and his cheeks were fuller now but his stare, it felt as unnerving as ever, if not more.

The most striking difference however was the lack of a smile. He wasn't smiling. John Wander.

John Wander was here. How did he find me? Who is this Karim lookalike? What was he doing with Wander?

I instinctively took a step back and ended up hitting the other guy's chest. It felt rock solid, the guy almost held my shoulders but I stumbled away to his left, apologising.

I looked from John to the guy in disbelief. I couldn't bring myself to speak. Their faces remained stoic as well. A few tense moments later, John broke into a smile like someone would greet a long lost friend. It looked extremely ominous. I decided that I preferred him not smiling.

"Now, that's no way to greet an old friend! I am here to help you fulfil your promise. You gave me your word and forgot about it. It's high time you fulfilled it, don't you think?" John baritoned, approaching me.

My heart was beating insanely fast. I glanced towards the gate.

I could reach there if I managed to push John out of the way but where would I go then?

As if he could hear my thoughts, John warned. "It doesn't have to be ugly and end up with us killing the sweet old lady upstairs. I will kill anyone who tries to protect you?"

He smiled smugly. "Unlike you, I intend to keep my promises."

The other guy had a sharp intake of breath. Wander turned to him sharply.

"Oh! I totally forgot about you! Amay, you see my friend there? He has a few grievances of his own from you." John smirked.

"I will just go upstairs to give you guys some quality time together, can't let anyone disturbing you." He walked towards the stairs and I started panicking.

Quality time together? He didn't mean .....that? Right? With Karim's lookalike too! No! I would rather die! But what could I do? Where could I go? I couldn't go out but I could stall them. Yes, my best bet was to wait for Ray to return.

I ran towards the kitchen and the guy lunged to lock the main gate. I think he expected me to bolt out. It gave me a moment's edge.

I tried to lock myself up in the kitchen but he got there before I could do so.

I threw myself against the door to keep him out but he pushed the door and I fell, bringing down some of the utensils from the counter with a clang.

I pushed myself up on my hands and looked around, there were spoons, bowls, forks and plates and a knife. Desperately, I picked up the knife and brandished it at him. He hesitated.

"Stop!" I warned him.

"Put it down! I know you are too much of a wuss to ever hurt anyone with that." He started laughing.

I blinked.

I knew Wander. He would never give up an opportunity to torture someone. This was his idea of fun. He brought Karim's doppelganger to freak me out. I have to be strong.

"Maybe! But if you move any further, I will stab myself. I don't think your boss will be too happy about that."

His smile disappeared instantly. Emotions flickered in his eyes. "Drop it!" He ordered in a low voice.

"I said drop it!" He shouted and I winced. This gave him the opportunity to lunge down at me and we fell down on the floor.

He started wrestling with me and lost no time in holding my wrist with his hands. Then, he started twisting my wrist to get me to leave the knife.

Finally, the knife fell down on the floor with a clink and a whimper escaped me.

"So eager to die, are you?" He spat, his hands still gripping my hands on the ground. A tear escaped my eyes and I turned my head to the side.

"Pity, I can't let you do that now, we still need to settle some scores" Then he leaned towards me.
