Crushing on You

A Proposition

When the night had come to an end Ruby and I helped my Mum clean up before we headed back to my place. It had been a fantastic night, and my entire family absolutely loved Ruby, just as I knew they would. I mean, what's not to love right?

As we strip off our clothes and crawl into bed together I snuggle into Ruby's arms. This is where I feel safe. This is home. Her arms wrap around me as she holds me tight and I cant help but breathe in the scent of her. she is utterly intoxicating.

"I love having you here Roobs".

"And I love being here with you Baby" she smiles as she plants a soft kiss to my forehead.

"It's gonna kill me having to say goodbye to you again in a few days".

"Me too Maya. I want to wrap you up in my arms and never let you go".

"I'd be more than okay with that".

"I have a proposition for you..."

"You want to proposition me? Coz damn babe... you know I'm all for that" I tease.

"You are such a smart ass sometimes" Ruby giggles.

"Yeah but you love it".

"I do. Its one of the many things I love about you".

"So what is this proposition then?"

"How would you feel about coming to live in LA with me?"

"Seriously?" I ask as I sit up in bed and look at her, shock written all over my face.

"I'm deadly serious. I hate being away from you Maya. Look I know that it is a lot to ask. New Zealand is your home, your family is here, your job is here... and I can't expect you to just leave it all behind for me. I just... I love you so much and I really want to give this my all" Ruby explains.

"Babe... my home is here" I say as I place my hand over her heart. "To me, home is wherever you are".

"Really? So is that a yes?"

"One hundred percent yes" I grin widely.

"You don't wanna think on it for a while?"

"Trust me Babe, this has been playing on my mind for the last week. I wanna be with you more than anything. I will miss my family, sure. But I can call and video chat with them. Roobs, you make me so happy, and I owe it to myself to follow my heart. And my heart says follow you".

"Fuck I love you Maya!" Ruby smiles as she wraps her arms around me a hugs me tightly.

"It might take me a month or so to work out my months notice at my job and settle everything here, but I'm willing to do anything it takes for us to be together".

"I think visiting New Zealand was the best thing to ever happen to me you know that? I still can't believe that I was lucky enough to find you Baby".

"I'm pretty sure I'm the lucky one Babe... you're so fucking perfect".

"I love it when you look at me like that" Ruby smiles.

"Like what?"

"Like I'm the only woman in the world".

"You are the only woman in the world to me. Nothing compares to you" I grin and Ruby giggles in response. "What?"

"Its just... Nothing Compares by Sinead O'Connor is kinda mine and my Mums song".

"That's so cute" I gush. "Coz nothing compares.... nothing compares to you!" I sing to her before bursting into laughter.

"You're so cute" Ruby quips.
