Battle of the bands

Chapter 12.

Alyssa's POV:

"Alyssa hurry up we have to leave" My father yelled outside of my bedroom door.

"I'm coming jeez!" I yelled back pulling my converse on. "What's the rush anyway? It's not like the café is gonna close!"

"Just hurry up".

I grabbed my backpack and raced down the stairs. "I'm ready!" I announced proudly. My mum and dad, last night, with much persuasion, decided to think about the tour. I was surprised and beyond excited. They insisted on discussing it over lunch today, but alone. I didn't understand exactly why I wasn't allowed to go with them. But I didn't bother complaining, not wanting to be on their bad side.

"Okay let's go" My dad said picking up his keys. I had to be dropped off at Natalie's.

"Okay" my father started whilst we driving to Natalie's "Now whatever we decide, we want you to know that we love you very much and whatever we choose is for your own benefit". I couldn't help but notice my fathers worried expression. My mother hadn't spoken the whole drive and looked as if she was going to be sick. "Yes I understand dad" I replied looking out the window.

"What café are you guys going to?" I asked, curious as to why they hadn't mentioned it. "Uh" my dad muttered nervously "The um" he looked at my mother hands gripping the wheel of the car. "We're going to the Stone-bridge one" my mother spoke for the first time. Her voice was croaky and just above a whisper. I guessed she was just worried about sending me half way over the world. I furrowed my eyebrows thinking to myself.

What an odd choice for a café? I thought to myself. They never go there. It's all the way in the city.

Once we finally got to Natalie's house my parents got out of the car. "It's okay guys I can walk in myself" I muttered grabbing my black and gold bag. "Honey" my mum said, hugging me. "I love you so much".

It sounded as if she was going to cry. "I love you to mum" I said questioningly. "Look sweetie, your mum may-" my dad started. "Stop!" My mum said forcefully. My father looked down at his hands. "Bye sweetie" he said sadly. "Oh my gosh you guys, you're acting as if I'm gonna die jeez" I laughed but they didn't return the gesture. "Well I'm gonna go" I said awkwardly walking up Natalie's porch. Both of my parents looked at me nervously as I rang the doorbell. But, soon left after Natalie opened the door and crushed me in a hug.

I watched as they got back into the car and drove off.

Third persons POV:

"It's back" the man sighed in his chair, rubbing his annoyingly.

"I'm so sorry guys" he said to Alyssa's parents, both crying.

"What are we going to do" Alyssa's mum Tania cried into her husband Rob's shoulder. "We can start as soon as possible" the man muttered fixing his papers on his desk. "What about Alyssa, she can't go through with this again" Tania cried even more. "I don't know what we're going to do" Rob mumbled.

"I do" Tania said sniffling.

Natalie's POV:

"You're going" Rob said to Alyssa as soon as she opened my front door. Alyssa and I had a lazy day, mainly consisting of watching movies and helping me pack, which she wasn't to enthusiastic about. "What!" Alyssa screamed jumping up and down. "For real, like I'm actually going on the tour? With the girls? Oh my gosh" she jumped up and down making everyone laughed. "Yes" Rob laughed, but he had a different face presented. "Oh my gosh Natalie did you hear that?" Alyssa asked me. I nodded my head smiling "We have to pack!"  I laughed at her eagerness.

I saw my father gesturing for me to take her upstairs with a nervous look on his face. I was really curious why we had been hurried away but I obeyed my father and went upstairs.

When Alyssa's father called for her to leave we raced down the staircase and into the lounge room. I couldn't help but notice Tania reddened eyes as I gave Alyssa a hug. I went back to my room after she had left and called Charlie and Jade. They didn't know anything about what had happened that made Alyssa's parents so distraught. We guessed that it was because she was going to be away for a long time. I sighed rubbing my eyes as I got into bed, trying to make myself dream about touring with one direction. It didn't work, I ended up dreaming about talking mushrooms that tried to poison my cereal.
