Battle of the bands

chapter 22.

Natalie's POV:

"I did it!" I shouted into the Liam's house, dragging Zayn in behind me, roughly. "Calm down, will ya" Zayn whined, playfully. I laughed in response, turning into the kitchen.

"Did what?" I heard Niall ask from the lounge.

"I cut my hair!" I squealed excitedly. It's true, I had cut my hair and dyed it, the way I had always wanted it, platinum blonde and a straight cut at the top of the shoulders. I'd never seen anyone with it but in a few 90s movies people had something similar, which is why I wanted to do it. Zayn had taken a photo of me when I had gotten it and I posted it on twitter.

"Yes!" Liam shouted, running up to me when he finally appeared, "It looks mad" he dragged his fingers through my hair, it must have been super soft, I don't know how the hairdressers do it.

"You look so different, but like, the same" Alyssa agreed, walking out of what seems like nowhere. I laughed at her response, thanking the rest of compliments I received. I pulled off my cardigan, it was really warm in here.

It was now the middle of March, yes a few weeks had gone by and we were still hanging out at Liam's house. We hadn't actually seen the guys for the past two weeks, only messaging a few times. It was understandable, they were having a tour and needed to be at meetings a lot of the time. We had a few meetings as well, also a lot of rehearsal and even recording, which was super exciting.

"Okay, the old people are here, let's start!" Alyssa screamed from the front door. We were all sitting, again in Liam's lounge room, awaiting the arrival of Harry and Louis, as always. What they were doing, I have no idea.

"Hey guys, nice hair Natalie!" Louis' eyes widened when he saw me, ruffling my hair. "Gee, thanks Lou, feeling the love right now, yeah?" I joked with him as Zayn put the movie in.

After the movie was finished, we all decided to sleep over, without Liam's consent of course, because who needed that.

The next morning everyone woke up, two by two, groggily to E! News, courtesy of Jade and I. Liam was also making pancakes so that may be another reason why the rest woke up.

"And now, one of our newest celebrities out there, Natalie Divalentino, rocking out a new trend here, the sleek, long bob" The happy lady on show smiled.

"What!" I squealed, "Oh my gosh!" Alyssa and Charlie screamed.

"Wait, shut up" I listened to the next part, surprised to hear my name being mentioned on the television.

"Turns out, the girls from new founded band; Soldiers, are fashion inspirations to millions of young girls out there, ever since they were discovered by British boy band One Dircection".

"Why do they always say British Boy Band?" Louis asked, "it's getting so old". Niall gave Louis an 'r u srs' look and mumbled something about it not mentioning that there was one member who was Irish.

Photos were then shown on the screen of all of our different Instagram photos.

"That's me!" Alyssa laughed at a photo, I think I had taken of her at a Mcdonalds. "Wow Alyssa, what an inspiration" Jade laughed.
"I know right" Niall laughed, "She's wearing sweatpants and a hoodie!".

"Excuse me that was an expensive jumper!" Alyssa argued, correcting Niall's term 'Hoodie' saying it was an American thing. She was eventually shushed as we tried to watch. Our announcement was over as soon as it started and we all blamed Alyssa for missing the rest.

Then the presenter started talking about Zac Efron and Alyssa screamed for everyone to shut up.

Alyssa stared with practically heart eyes at the screen.
