I spent the entire weekend reading into the Game of Thrones storyline. Trying to figure out what I had seen, what had happened. On Sunday I had even brought a small fire pit and lite it behind me building. I had spent hours staring into the flames, but the visions never came back.
On Monday morning I woke up late, stretched out over my sofa, covered in papers and two empty wine bottles on the floor. The first thing I did was rush to the bathroom and throw up. When I looked back up at my reflection in the mirror my eyes were blood shot and ash from fire had caused dirty marks on my face. I knew in that moment I was at some sort of cross roads. I had to either choice to go left and try to forget everything that had happened and move on with my life, or go right and turn down a rabbit hole where I had no idea what would happen. I had to choice between reality or fiction.
Either way, I still had to go to work, so I took a quick shower and grabbed a very dark coffee before heading out for the day. Once at work I still couldn't focus though. Everytime I closed my eyes, even for a second, I would see Sandor. I knew I was behaving like a crazy person, but I couldn't stop it and I'm not sure I wanted to. Just before lunch, I was in the stationary cupboard getting some supplies when Sandor entered my mind once again. I don't know whether it was the hangover or what but i suddenly broke down crying. I had no idea how long I had been in there when the door opened and I saw Kathy staring at me wide eyed.
"Hey - hey, what's going on?" She gasped.
"I'm losing my mind." I blurted out.
Kathy just cocked her head to the side and sighed before slowly moving forwards and pulling me into a hug. "Come on, let's talk in my office."
Nodding, I wiped the tears from my face and sheepishly followed her back to her private office. Inside, she told me to take a seat on the sofa and brought me a glass of water.
"Is this something to do with why you ran out of my place?"
"Yes," I whispered.
"You wanna talk about it?"
"I can't. You'd think I was crazy. Fuck, I probably am."
Kathy sighed again and gently folded a piece of my hair behind my ear. "I know I'm technically your boss and we just had a one night thing, but I do care about you Cranberry. I'm here if you need to talk."
It had been so long since anyone had shown me any real kindness or care. Until then I didn't really realise how lonely I had actually been. And now, Kathy, this super intelligent and gorgeous woman was here, showing me affection and care and although Sandor was still in my mind I quickly leant forward and kissed her. Thankfully, Kathy returned the kiss and before I knew it, she was kissing down my neck as I moved to straddle her. Wanting to take control, I forced her back into he sofa and began to kiss and suck on her collar bone and down her chest. As I undid the buttons on her shirt, I could feel her fingers trailing up my skirt and into my pants.
As I pulled down her bra and began to suck at her nipples, she fingers where already playing with me. I knew we had to keep our voices down, but in was panting heavily as she drove my body to a climax. No it was my turn.
"Move to your hands and knees," I whispered as she shuffled around the sofa.
Once in position, I moved to kneel behind her and pulled her tight pencil skirt up over her lower half. Keeping her pants on, I slipped two fingers inside and leant down to kiss her ass. We stayed in her office into well after lunch, taking turns to drive each other to climax before we were both sweaty and exhausted messes on the floor of her office.
"I don't really understand you Cranberry, but I'm sure glad I met you," she smiled and gently brought our lips together for another kiss.
"I should get back to work," I smiled awkwardly and pulled away.
"Alright, but can I see you tonight?"
I had to stop and think, this was my crossroads, left or right, reality or fiction.
"Sure. I'll see you after work."
After I got dressed, I planned to run out and grab a sandwich, but suddenly the fire alarms in the building began to scream out. Instantly the sprinklers burst into life, soaking everything and everyone around. It was manic inside, people were rushing about to the nearest exit and I began to wish I had paid attention at my induction as I had no idea where to go. Grabbing my handbag from my desk, I ran across the office floor and towards the first door I could see through the smoke which was now pouring out of the kitchen.
When I finally reached the door, i grabbed the handle and pushed it open, praying it was a fire exit. As I stepped through the smoke and into the darkness of the hopeful exit, I suddenly felt as though i was falling. I couldn't see anything around me and the scent of burning filled my noise. Still I continued to fall until finally I hit the ground with a hard bang and I slowly closed my eyes.
