"My ass is officially numb. Like I am completely broken. Please for the love of bagels, are we nearly there?"

The journey from Winterfell to King Landings had been a long and at times, painful one. We had even taken a ship for part of the journey, but in had sent most of that time throwing up over the side.

"We'll be there before midday," Sandor replied, somehownnot growing tired or annoyed at my constant questions.

As we finally reached the gates of
Kings Landing, we tied the horses up and made our way through the crowds. Hundreds of people had fled to the city as Queen Cersi had promised those within her walls safery from the threat of the North. When we finally walked through one of the large archways of the mighty tall walls, shouts and cries of dragons filled the air.

Suddenly, everyone became manic with fear and the guards began to close the gates shut. Sandor held onto my hand with a fierce tightness as we somehow managed to end up on the inside. As the gates finally closed behind us, pounding of those left on the outside filled the air. The crowd was still crazed with panic though and somehow in the madness, my hand slipped from Sandors grip.

"Sandor!" I cried as the wave of crowds pulled us apart.

I could see him looking back over the crowd for me, but I was too small to be seen. Crying and shouting, I tried to make myself seen but it was no use. After less than a minute I could no longer make him out and some strange woman was pulling me out of the crowd and towards her house.

"You must hide, the dragons are here," she insisted as she pulled me into the shade of her stone bricked walls and slammed the door shut.

"No, you dont understand, my... my husband is still out there,"

"And he wouldn't be happy in finding you trampled by the crowds out there. Come, sit and we shall pray for his safety,"

"Who are you?"

"My name is Nina and this my daughter Dala. My husband and father have been forced to fight, but they would want me to help anyone I could. Please, sit and we shall pray for our men."

Nina was a thin woman, but there was a beauty to her face and her eyes sparkled a bright green colour. I could she her daughter hiding behind her skirt and she quickly smiled at me as I looked down at her.

"If you go back out there, you will not survive." Nina repeated again.

Suddenly, the sounds of screams became louder from outside and then the roar of dragons and finally silence.  In that short moment I knew Nina was right so I walked over to her and bent my knee. In her dirty and dark home we all bent to our knees and held hands in a circle. Silently, i watched as they closed their eyes and Nina began to speak.

"We ask the Father and Mother to look over us, we ask the Warrior to give our men the strength to fight and protect them with his sword and shield,"

She stopped for a moment as the room around us shook and dirt fell from the ceiling. Speaking louder over the increasing screams outside she continued, "we ask the Maiden to look protect my daughter and her innocence, we ask the Smith to put the world of men to right and guide us to safety with his bright fire light, we ask the Crone to bring us wisdom and bring us from this darkness, and the Stranger we ask not today, we wish for life and beauty. We ask him to take mercy on us and allows to see another day. The seven gods we ask you to hear our prayers and lift our souls to safety. Under their hold we shall not fall, under their hold we shall not fall".

"Momma, the screams, they are fading," Dala spoke quietly.

"Perhaps the gods have heard our prayer," Nina smiled.
