Chapter 6

The very next day, Daniel has a dark circle around his eyes due to lack of sleep, he still remembers last night when he arrived home, his sister had been waiting for him at the entrance with a scowl on her face. She started lecturing him that he should never bully other or taking people's money by force, unfortunately, the lecture lasts for a few hours.

Apparently, the school had informed his sister about yesterday's incident and she is not very happy about it. Daniel never wanted to experience that situation ever again. Daniel dragged his body to the class, ignoring other people stared at his pity state. He puts his bag on the table before lazily sitting on the chair. From the corner of his eyes, he saw Youngwoo who is having a bandaged covering his right cheek sending him a concerned look.

Not long after that, the teacher arrived and Daniel silently groaned clearly unhappy when he realized it is a history class. After a long period of struggling in surviving every class, it was finally recess time. When Daniel arrived at the cafeteria, he decided to buy a sandwich with a bottle of water before sitting at his usual table which is placed at the corner.

As he was eating he noticed Youngwoo keep looking at his way while standing in the middle of the cafeteria with a tray on both of his hands. Daniel suddenly feels a sense of dejavu.

Daniel signals him to sit with him and the poor boy immediately complies. Youngwoo has his head bowed down and keep fidgeting on his seat, his food still untouched.

"How are you feeling?" Daniel decided to ask when he saw a bandaged covering his face and hand, suddenly feels like it was his fault for not stopping the other bullies earlier.

Youngwoo seemed a bit startled at the question and reply "I feel a bit better today compared to yesterday"

"Oh, really? But I think you should at least call in sick until you get completely heal" Daniel pointed at the wounded casually. When he was young, he would use every excuse he can to be absent from school, however, Youngwoo doesn't hold the same thought as him.

Daniel continues eating his sandwich while ignoring Youngwoo who was staring at him, seemingly in dazed.

"I- I don't understand" he suddenly stated, "I thought you were a part of them yesterday but-" he paused "why did you stop them ?"

Daniel makes eye contact with the other while chewing on his food, his expression softened when he saw Youngwoo having a helpless look on his face. It must confuse him when the person who used to bully him suddenly helping him. When Daniel decided to interfere yesterday, he doesn't really think about the consequence, it is just in his nature to help.

"I don't understand either"

Youngwoo didn't reply and Daniel hurriedly adds "Let just said yesterday incident was me showing my gratitude to you for saving my life once" Of course he is saying this to make Youngwoo feels better, he was smiling when he is saying this, however, Youngwoo quickly avoid his eyes.

Oh shit, maybe I shouldn't have said too much.
