Chapter 10

Daniel lost both of his parents when he is a young teenage but he cannot say that he is unhappy with his life because of that. There are times where he feels lonely and regrets but he comes back to his sense. Later, he was taken in by his strict grandmother and both of them had been living together for several years before the old woman left the world.

Living with his grandmother was tough for him, however, he is thankful for that old woman because now he knows how to act in front of these two childish grown up in front of him now.

"To think that you actually come" The old man that said this is his father in this world, Mr Kim.

Fortunately, Daniel makes it to the dinner but with several minutes late. He was wearing a formal suit he found on his wardrobe and style his hair a bit to make sure he looks presentable enough. From the corner of his eyes, he saw Mrs Kim stared at him as if scanning him up and down. She sipped on her drink gracefully before throwing a thin smile toward his son.

"I can see why your homeroom Teacher had been telling me you have changed" she paused "How much weight have you lost?"

Daniel thinks that there is no need for him to be polite to both of this person and answered shortly "I didn't check"

There is an amused look thrown to him from the person sitting next to him, Hana, and Daniel ignored the stared before continuing eating the dessert placed on the table.

"Uh, Oh right! How was the situation at Japan mum?" Hana interrupted before Mrs Kim could throw any remark toward Daniel.

They both converse with each other and Daniel take that times to scan both Mr Kim and Mrs Kim. This old man that had a grumpy look on his face looks nothing like him but when he looks carefully, Mr Kim does resemble Hana a little. This man has grey hair and Daniel assumed him to be in his 60 or more and the way he dressed shows his status that he has a lot of money in his pocket. His eyes then move to Mrs Kim who has a smile on her face when she keeps chatting with Hana. After inspecting for a while he realized that this woman loves to gossip. She has a pair of round eyes and a kind smile. Looking at her appearances Daniel feels that there are little similarities between Mrs Kim and his real mother.

"By the way, it seems like Daniel's teacher strongly believe he got the potential to get better in academic. It's kind of surprising right?" Mrs Kim suddenly mentioned happily.

Daniel started to wonder what other crazy things the teacher had told Mrs Kim about him and he can feel the upcoming headache just by thinking about it.

Mr Kim after hearing that steal a glanced at Daniel as if doubting him "Then can he make it into Elite Class?"

There is a short silence before Mrs Kim replied.

"Oh dear, that would be hard for him, there is a no way he could become a genius overnight, the exam also around the corner" the old woman chuckled, however, Mr Kim didn't laugh and he looks at his son seriously as if waiting for an answer.

Daniel reply the long stared before asking "So what if I did make it into that class?"

If he makes it into that class the perception toward him from both of his parent would change since he is no longer that 'dumb Daniel' they used to know. He doesn't know if that was a good thing or not.

"That would be a relieved" Mr Kim replied even though there is a complicated look on his face.

Daniel saw Hana throw a worry glance to his direction.

Meanwhile, Mrs Kim was sending a weird glance toward his husband before widened her eyes in surprised " You couldn't be possibly thinking to--" she stops mid sentences and gritted her teeth as if unhappy about it. "I thought we already discuss this!"
