Chapter 9

The school already ended and while everyone was busy leaving the school Daniel is still standing in front of the door of the school office. He was holding the door handle with a worried look on his face before deciding to push it open.


"Excuse me.." He quietly muttered.


The teacher who had asked for him immediately noticed his presence and smile sweetly.


"What are you doing only poking your head inside? come in" The teacher who wears thick glasses tried to stifle her laugh and Daniel feels the nervousness disappear.

The teacher was sitting comfortably in front of her table and she offered Daniel the empty seat in front of her. After Daniel gets comfortable on the chair he rests his hand on the table that separated both of them.


"May I know why I'm called here?" Daniel hesitantly asked.


The teacher smiled and handed him a piece of paper. "Your parent contact the school a few days ago, it seems like they wanna know how are you doing in school" she continued "So I thought your parent would be happy if you are more active in school"


Daniel takes the printed paper and reads the contents. "This is..."


"Yes, its a club registration form" she paused "Do you have anything you are interested in lately? I know you rejected the idea of joining any club before but how about giving it a second thought?"


Daniel hesitated because his mind is still processing the whole thing. He wonders if what the teacher was telling him about his parents was true at all because as far as he knew, his parents would never care about his academics because they gave up on it a long time ago. Just what makes them suddenly... concern?


"I will think about it, teacher" Daniel half-heartedly replied, he has a lot going on in his mind about this situation.


He knows that by joining and participating in a club has a lot of advantages for a student but the teacher kept explaining to him about it.


"Anyway, this past few days I can see you have changed a lot, Daniel." The teacher chirped happily after a long lecture about participating in a school club.


"O-oh really?"


"Yes, I can say I'm quite proud of you, I'm so glad you decide to take my advice from the last time we meet" the teacher continued cheerily.


Ha ha ha, it seems like this Daniel has been called into this office countless times before. Daniel thought to himself while maintaining a polite smile.


"The fact that you help Youngwoo from the bullies the other day too had impressed me greatly!"


Huh?


"And the fact you convinced the bully, what was his name? Sangwook? Ahh yes, that's right! You convinced him to stop bullying others and I was so surprised when he's really stopped making trouble this past few days" The teacher continued happily.


The teacher paused when she saw a confused expression painted on his student's face. "Don't worry, I'm willing to help you regain your reputation back in this school. You were in your rebellious stage when you keep making trouble before, I know people can change and you proved it to me" the teacher stand up and patted his shoulder as if she is touched.

"I'm sorry, but how did you know all that??" Daniel finally asked after blanking out for a while.


"Oh! My bad for not telling you beforehand" the teacher keep her smile before continuing "Actually I saw you stopping the group of bullies the other day, I was on the third floor that day and I accidentally saw through the window what had happened" she explained.


That day, after she witnessed Daniel stopping the bullies she was shocked and hurriedly run down to check the situation out before it becoming worse however when she arrived all of them already gone. After asking the teacher who is in charge, she went to the toilet where Daniel was getting discipline. Later, she found Daniel and Sangwook were talking calmly with each other at the entrance of the toilet and accidentally overheard daniel telling the other to stop making trouble. She smiled to herself before leaving the scene.



This... uh, what a crazy coincident. Daniel thought.



"You even stop making trouble in class and your performance also getting better, oh, what a good boy are you!"


Daniel flinched when the teacher patted his shoulder for a second time.


"I'll help you Daniel so rest assured" She winked.


After exchanging a few words with the teacher Daniel was finally able to leave. He stood outside the office room in a daze to process everything. A part of him was glad that the teacher didn't know more than she supposed too but what was the teacher thinking when she kept telling him that she will help. He has a bad feeling about that. Daniel shuddered at the possible bad things that may happen in the future before leaving the school in a hurry.

"This kid, why he didn't answer his fucking phone" The girl with a ponytail cursed as she glared at her phone while frantically tapping on the screen.


"Hana, are you gonna take a long time there?" A woman's voice could be heard from the living room and Hana quickly switches off his phone before wearing a fake smile and walk into the living room where her guests were resting.


"Sorry mum and dad, I was checking if there is enough ingredient in the kitchen to cook for tonight dinner."


The unexpected guest was her parent who had been living in Japan since they open their company there. She was surprised and flustered when they suddenly announce that they are gonna stay in Korea for 3 days when they arrived at her doorstep.


"Don't bother, let's have dinner at a Chinese restaurant tonight and don't forget to invite your younger brother into this too." Her mother said in a bored tone as she keeps changing the channel of the television using the remote control.


"Don't worry mum, I'll inform him right away" Hana replied while stealing a glance at her father who was busy reading a newspaper quietly since he arrived here.


As she has expected, her father perked up at the mentioned of his only son and frowned. "That ungrateful child never join dinner with us what makes you think he will agree this time?"


"Even though that was the case, he is still our kid" her mother replied calmly "He is still young and it is not too late for us to fix his behaviour"


"What a joke" that was the cold replied from her father.


Hana sighed as she watched both of her parents began to have a small argument about Daniel.



Daniel... please just come tonight.

Daniel didn't realize he had his phone turn off the whole day and was surprised when he saw there are tons of missed calls and a few messages from Hana. It's already dark when he arrived home and he hesitantly sits on the couch before tapping the messages inbox icon on the screen of his phone. He is not surprised to see several cursed words pointed to him on one of the messages so he decided to ignore that and went to read the important message.

You trash come to XXXX at 8, hurry up mum and dad also here


The light of the phone hit his face when he carefully read the whole sentences. After realizing the situation he is in, Daniel had a complicated look on his face. He was taken aback after realizing his parent was here, no wonder he has a bad feeling before. However, there are other things worried him the most. He checks the message again as if to confirm something.




This place... can this be any worst.
