Chapter 8

The bell ring when the door of the café is pushed open by a man who has a frowned plaster on his face. The pierching on his eyebrow become more apparent as the dim light of the café hit his face and his slit eyes roaming around the café searching for a specific person.

Daniel who sits at the corner waved his hand when he noticed Sangwook at the entrance wearing a comfortable white shirt with a pair of shorts. He managed to grab Sangwook's attention and Daniel can't help but noticed the cranky mood surrounding the younger as he approached him.

"Why did you call?" Sangwook asked straight away as soon as he sits on the chair which is opposite of Daniel.

It is in the middle of the evening and Daniel had a blue sweater on with a pair of dark jog pants. He didn't reply to the younger's question but push a glass of tea he has ordered for the younger.

"Did something happened at home?" Daniel calmly asked as he sips on his cup of coffee.

Sangwook stared at him as he hesitates to answer.

"You don't have to talk about it if you are uncomfortable" Daniel continues after he noticed a long paused from the younger.

"Anyway, this is only gonna take a while," Daniel said as he slides a picture on the table toward Sangwook to see.

Sangwook holds the picture in his hand and takes a closer look to see it was a picture of a woman in her twenties.

"Do you recognize this woman?"

Sangwook nodded lazily "Yes, our company had been meeting up with her quite often, I guess she is gonna merge with our company soon"

Daniel hummed as he rubbed the handle of the cup with his thumb, deep in thought "That's bad news" he muttered.

"What?" Sangwook replied a bit curious.

"I can say that she has something up her sleeve" Daniel paused "It is better to not continue the merge"

"Look.." Sangwook sighed "I don't know the reason for that but even I know about it there is nothing I can do about it, that's up to the company to decide, not me"

Looking at how Sangwook answered, he knows right away that the younger is not really interested in the company.

"I'm aware." Daniel smiled "It would be pointless to explain it to you anyway."

Sangwook is actually getting pissed at Daniel's remark but ignored it.

The woman in the picture is actually Kim Jiae, 29 years old, a young founder-CEO of JJ insurance firm. It is safe to say that the firm is still new however due to various sponsorship the company has done, it becomes well known.

As he is deep in thought he accidentally sneezes loud enough for the younger to notice. Daniel rubbed his red nose and notices Sangwook staring at him.

"Sorry, I guess its really cold here" Daniel apologizes.

He suddenly remembers about last night's event at the factory. The image of injured Hyunjae comes into his mind. Considering he caught a cold due to staying out late night with thin clothes, Hyunjae must be in a worse condition than he is right now. Maybe calling Chaoxing to fetch the protagonist is a really good idea anyway since the protagonist keeps rejecting his help.

"Did you received any invitation recently?" Daniel decided to change the subject.

"We've got a lot, which invitation are you talking about?"

"An invitation for the event in Hongkong"

Sangwook raised his eyebrow "What about it?"

"I guess you received it" Daniel hummed and decided "Okay listen, I know you might hate this but this is really important"
