Two months later.
Chanel's POV
I finished pulling my auburn red hair into a high pony tail, while staring at my self in the mirror. I looked at myself taking in how much I have changed in the past two months, not physically though more mentally than anything. I thought of my family and my old friends every day, thinking of all the good times we shared and smiling at the thoughts instead of shedding tears.
I smiled as I thought of my new family and how they had brought me in without hesitation. Although one certain green eyed turtle was constantly in my thoughts. Raphael and I had grown pretty close in the past couple months; sharing secrets, having late night conversations, and watching movies together. I would be lying if I said I hadn't fallen for him, but fear of rejection is why I kept my feelings to my self.
I sighed before sitting down in my white old fashioned cushioned chair. I looked around the room and smiled at the way the roomed looked. Thanks to the guys and April my room looked just like my dream room. All four walls were painted teal-my favorite color- which matched the sheets on my bed, the frame around the mirror, and the lamp beside my bed.
The bed frame was white to match the dresser, the small table by my bed, and the chair in the corner I was sitting in. Thanks to April the dresser was completely filled with new clothes, and so was the closet Donnie had made for me. I smiled as I slipped on my brown knee high boots over my dark blue skinny jeans. I stood up, walked over to my bed and picked up my white sweeter. Carefully I slipped it over my head and over my black tank top.
Taking one last glance in the mirror I walked out the door. From the top of the steps I could see the boys -except Donnie- gathering their weapons getting ready for patrol. I took a deep breath to gather my courage before I skipped down the steps.
They all greeted me with a smile including my red clad hero. He gave me a warm smile and then a questioning glance.
"Your dressed pretty nice for bed?"
He questioned me, I smiled at him telling myself that I can do this.
"I'm not going to bed."
He froze in his tracks as he reached for his sais. Leo and Mikey stopped what they were doing and turned to stare at us.
"Where are you going?"
He completely forgot about his sais and was now only a few inches away from. Anger was echoing in his voice, I sucked in a shaky breath before saying.
"I'm going on patrol with you guys."
I said taking a small step back.
"What?!"
He screamed causing me to flinch slightly. He most have noticed my flinch because he backed up and sat on the couch trying to calm himself down.
"Um Chanel why do you want to go on patrol with us?"
Leo asked putting his katana in its sleeve.
"Because I haven't been to the surface since the day you guys found me and I just want to see the city."
I said sitting on the couch next to Raph, who just looked at me in disbelief.
"You can't come with us Chanel it's to dangerous. The Foot could still be looking for you."
Raph put his hand on my knee.
"You guys haven't seen any sign of the foot in two months. What are the chances of them showing themselves tonight?"
I put my hand on top of his, looking at him then to Leo. Leo was about to speak when Donnie's voice spoke up.
"30% which really isn't that high."
He said leaning in his Bo staff giving me a warm smile. The purple masked turtle had become my best friend. Me and him talked to each other about stuff that angered us.
I would rant to him about Raph when me and him would fight, and he would rant about April and Casey. So needless to say Donnie already knew what I was planing ask today.
"But what if they do show themselves?"
Raph looked up at Donnie, who just smiled back at him. Mikey spoke before Donnie could even open his mouth.
"Bro she's gonna be with four awesome, shell kicking, totally good looking, ninjas! There's nothing to fear."
He said as he jumped over next to me slinging his arm over my shoulder causing me to laugh. Raph's face stayed angry as he sent glares of ice towards Mikey, who slowly took his arm off my shoulders.
"What do you think fearless?"
Raph looked up a Leo who had his arms crossed over his plastron, staring at me in deep thought. He sighed and let a smile spread across his lips.
"I don't see a problem with her tagging along."
I couldn't stop myself from jumping off the couch in excitement.
"Really?!"
"You have to be kidding me."
Raph mumbled throwing his head back against the couch. Leo held up a finger, stopping my excitement for a moment.
"But you'll have to listen to what Raph tells you to do."
I turned to look at the emerald eye turtle who was now smirking at me, causing heat to rush to my cheeks.
"We're heading out in 5 minutes."
I watched the other three turtles walk towards the exit, Donnie paused for a moment to wink at me. I shook my head as I felt the warmth rise in my chest once again.
"Your gonna need more than that sweeter to keep ya warm."
Raph said now standing right next to me, sais in hand. He wasn't much taller than me, but I did have to tilt my head back to look him the eye.
"What else will I need?"
I smiled at him as he put his sais in his leather belt. He grabbed my hand an lead me over to the closet where him and his brothers keep their disguises. He open the closet and pulled out a a brown leather jacket that looked familiar to me.
"Is this my jacket?"
I asked as he held it for me to put it on.
"Yeah I had April take it to the dry cleaners."
He said as I slipped my arms through the sleeves.
"Thank you."
I said as stood up on my toes to kiss him on the cheek.
It took a moment for both of us to grasp what I had just done. He face was turning as red as his mask and I knew from how hot my cheeks were that I looked the same. We stood there staring at each other before he reached in the closet to grab what looked to be a red scarf.
"It's been pretty chilly here lately."
He smirked at me.
"We'll it is almost December. "
I returned his smirk, causing him to chuckle a little. He then took a step closer to me, gently wrapping the scarf around my neck.
"I know it's not your favorite color but it's all I have."
He whispered. I stared up at him as he finished wrapping the warm cloth around my neck. Our eyes stayed locked together as my breath caught in my throat. I then whispered something that made both of smile with joy.
"I think I'm learning to love red."
