Learning To Love Red

Chapter 11

Raph's POV

Very gently I placed Chanel's sleeping figure down on my bed careful not to startle her. Swiftly I pulled the spare red blanket at the foot of the bed up to her shoulders. I took one last glance at her sleeping form before slipping out quietly shutting the door behind me. I let out a sigh as I headed towards the dojo where the others had gathered.

My mind was filled with questions and rage. I walked through the door to see Donnie sitting on the floor looking at his tablet, April standing behind him staring over his shoulder. Casey was leaning against the tree with his ams crossed over his chest his head slumped down. Mikey was sitting in the floor with Klunk in his lap, softly petting him.

Leo was pacing the room, he must have been in deep thought because he didn't even acknowledge me.

"Find anything Donnie?"

I asked as I walked towards him arms crossed over my chest. Donnie didn't look up at me, he just kept his eyes focused on his tablet.

"I can't find anything bad on the Miller family, but I can confirm that she is Chanel Miller."

He turned his tablet towards me showing me a picture of Chanel with the rest of her family. Suddenly my heart was filled with sorrow as I thought of the red head crying in my arms.

"We need to find out who would want to hurt her and her family."

Leo spoke up.

"Who would do something like this?" April asked.

"The Foot."

Mikey mumbled under his breath. All of us turned to look at him, his head was down as he kept his attention on the orange cat in his lap.

"But even though the Foot Clan is evil they wouldn't do something like this with out reason."

Casey said as he pushed himself off the tree.

"We'll Mikey was right about it being the foot."

Donnie said as he stared at his tablet.

"I was?"

Mikey's head shot up.

"How do you know Donnie?"

I asked.

"Because these crime scene photos hold evidence in them."

Quickly he tapped the tablet to make it zoom in before turning it to us. We all gathered around to look at the picture, in the corner of a burnt up room was a Foot solider mask still in tack.

"They obviously did this so let's go and teach them a lesson."

Anger in my voice as I punched my hand.

"We can't just go after them Raph. We have to find out why they would do this."

Leo said.

"We can't just sit around and do nothing. We need to serve justice to those who did this."

I pointed my finger in his face glaring at him with anger. Leo didn't even blink, he keep his eyes locked on mine as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"We need to find out information about Chanel and her family first. We need to know they were targeted. We need answers, before we attack anyone."

He swatted my hand out of his face.

I did the best I could to keep my anger in knowing that he had a point. I turned my attention to Donnie who was now standing by Mikey, far away from April.

"What do you think brainiac?"

I smirked as I asked him. Donnie gave me determined look before he spoke.

"We need answers. If the Foot was supposed to take out the whole Miller family,they failed."

I stared at him for a moment taking in what he had said. Suddenly Mikey spoke up.

"So they are going to and find Chanel and finish the job?"

His blue eyes looking up at us.

"Mikey's right, they will start looking for her."

Leo spoke up.

" I was right again? Like a turtle do!"

Mikey fist pumped the air proud of himself. I rolled my eyes at him slightly annoyed.

"Do you think Chanel would know any details as of why this happened? What they would want from her and her family?"

April asked steeping closer towards the rest of us. I was about to speak when I heard Casey's voice.

"She seems pretty torn up about the whole situation. Maybe we should wait and let her speak when she's ready."

His eyes held sympathy, April walked over to him wrapping him in a hug.

"Casey's right. Chanel will talk to us when she's ready. Right now it's time for patrol , maybe we can find some answers while were out there."

Leo spoke picking up his katanas and began to his way to the door. I watched as Donnie followed him, then Mikey with Klunk on his heels, then Casey close behind. I stood there for a moment deep in thought, as my eyes roamed to my bed room.

"You okay Raph?"

April put her hand on my shoulder, breaking my train of thought. I gave her glance before shaking my head.

"Yeah I'm fine April."

Slowly I picked my sais up, before turning back to her giving her a small smile. She wasn't looking at me though, her eyes were locked on my bedroom an knowing smile on her face. I let my mind cloud with images of a messy red head tucked into my bed. I lowered my head with a slight smile on my lips.

"I'll keep an eye on her while your gone."

April smiled nudging me.

"Thank you April."

I started walking towards the door, stopping once more to glance at my bed room. I was almost out the door when I heard April mumble under her breath.

"Your in falling hard Raph."
