Chapter 10: A Mistake

Sonic's POV

I was sitting at home chilling out with Tails.

"Sonic did you have to cause more drama at the cook out?" Tails asked.

"I spoke the truth about Shadow. He is a no good hedgehog and useless. I don't know why Rouge stood up for him. He calls me Faker but he's the real Faker around here. If he is the 'Ultimate Life Form' he should be able to be fine without anyone." I said.

"I mean.. it wasn't nice of you Sonic and maybe you just don't like him because he was around Amy that night." Tails said.

"No I just don't like him in general. Amy is still one of my fan girls and she's mine. If Sally and I ever break up, Amy will be my next choice." I said.

"But Sonic you know Amy tried dating you in the past. You practically hated her for chasing you around all the time. Listen to yourself." Tails said.

"Yeah okay buddy." I said as I ate a chili dog. Tails sighed.

"You've changed a lot Sonic.. I don't think I like the 'new' you now.. I think I'll leave now." Tails said as he got up and headed to the door.

"Tails!" I called out to him but he kept walking away.

"Call me up when the real Sonic comes back." He said as he left out. I sighed

'Maybe I should go to Ames house.' I thought to myself. I left my house and ran to Amy's place. I knocked on her door and waited. I turned around to leave and the door opened. I looked at Amy in the eyes before I did the unthinkable. I closed my eyes and grabbed Amy and kissed her passionately. I opened my eyes to see her in full shock.

"Hehe.. hey Ames." I said.

"I um.. hey Sonic." She finally said.

"Sorry I was just waiting to do that for a while." I said.

"But.. why..?" She asked.

"Well... it's hard to explain.." I said. I hear a voice behind me. 'What does he want now?' I let go of Amy and turned around to see Shadow. He gave me this emotionless look like he always does.

"Faker you must think I'm stupid. To think I wouldn't find out what you said about me at the cook out. Even about Maria." He said.

"Yeah I said it. What will you do about it?" I said getting closer to him.

"Guys.. stop." Amy said but I ignored her.

"You will pay for the things you said about me Faker." Shadow said.

Amy's POV

I'm at my door step when I see Shadow and Sonic arguing.

"Guys! You need to stop!" I yelled. They both ignored me as I sighed. I decided to grab my phone and call Rouge and told her she needs to come at my house quickly.

"You don't scare me Shadow." Sonic said getting into a fight stance.

"I'll kill you Faker." Shadow growled at Sonic. Sonic and Shadow both were throwing punches at each other. Sonic was using spin attacks but Shadow easily dodged them. Shadow teleported behind Sonic and punched him hard. Sonic winced at the pain but was able to punch Shadow. Shadow grabbed Sonic and slammed him to the ground. Sonic was in deep pain.

"Shadow stop! You will kill him!" I yelled. Shadow glared at me.

"Move you stupid hedgehog." He growled at me.

"I'm not stupid Shadow." I said.

"You're just a girl who can't defend yourself and your weak. I've seen different people fight and they did way better than you could. You and Faker can both die in hell. It was a mistake to even meet you. Pfft you're just a waste of my time. You and Faker are a disgrace to our own kind." Shadow said as he teleported away.

At that moment my eyes were full of tears. I ran over to Sonic and checked his pulse. Luckily his heart was still beating but he was unconscious. Rouge came over and we took Sonic to the hospital.

Soon as we got to the hospital Sonic was rushed into the emergency room.

"Can I see him?" I asked the doctor.

"I am terribly sorry but we have to run tests on him. You can come back tomorrow." The doctor said. I sighed as I started heading back home.

"Awe it will be okay Amy. I'll need to have a talk with Shadow later on though. He has been acting strange lately." Rouge said.

I nodded my head. Honestly I just wanted to know if Sonic will be okay or not. If I like it or not he was a huge part of my past since I was eight years old. I can't just sit there and do nothing. Also.. that kiss he gave me.. it wasn't so bad.

Shadow's POV

I appeared at my house and walked inside and slammed the door. I should of killed Faker. Hmph. Faker is no good anyway and neither is Rose. I don't know why I bothered to waste my time on both of them. Useless hedgehog's. I sat down on my couch still angry about what Faker said especially about Maria. He didn't have to bring her up. I sighed as I closed my eyes. Faker needed to learn a lesson anyway and not mess with someone who is more powerful than he is. He will never learn.

I hear a knock at my door but I ignored it assuming it was Rouge trying to talk to me about what I've done. But honestly I don't regret it one bit. I've hated Faker since the day I looked at him. He is immature and not responsible. He thinks everything is a joke to him. I'll just lay low for a while.

Amy's POV

I got back home and went upstairs in my room. I flopped onto my bed and screamed into my pillow. Shadow's words sunk into me. I tried to ignore them but it was no use. It was so harsh. I never thought he could be that way. I need to find out more about Shadow and no one will stop me. .. But not today though.
