Chapter 18: Eggman

Shadow's POV

I picked up Rose, bridal style and chaos controlled back to my house. As I was carrying her upstairs, I heard a slight sound coming from my arms where Rose was. Her soft snores. They were peaceful and at ease. I walked into my room and sat her down softly on the bed, pulling the covers over her body. I walked out as I looked down at my phone to see a message. It was from Rouge.

Rouge: We have a mission for the GUN. Dr. Eggman is at Space ARK and we need to stop him before he activates the systems again. We'll start tomorrow morning.

I sucked my teeth, not wanting to go to space where I left all of my traumatic memories at. I'm glad Rouge wanted to do it tomorrow. I stared at my Rose and a smile grew on my face. I laid down beside her and wrapped my arm around her.

Rouge's POV

I texted Shadow a long time ago and never got a response. I just hope he saw it. But little does he know this mission requires Amy as well. I heard a soft knock at my door but decided to ignore it. I am not having any visitors tonight after all of that skating.

The noise at the door has gotten louder by the minute.

"Who the heck is at my door at this time of night?" I asked myself sounding frustrated. I opened the door to my surprise as I almost passed out.

"Surprise Rouge." The voice said. It was Knuckles with a gift for me. I gave him a near to death hug.

"Oh Knuckles! You got me a gift." I said while letting him go. He caught his breath and his face started turning hot pink.

Knuckles passed me the gift. I slowly opened it to see the most gorgeous, most beautiful thing ever. It was the prettiest diamond I've ever seen, even better than my collection. It was the most sparkling jewel that I've seen. I held the jewel in my hands as I stared at it.

I turn around to say something to Knuckles until the moment when our lips touched. To my surprise he was a good kisser. I would love to take it further but it wouldn't work with my schedule. I slowly backed away.

"Thanks for everything Knuckles but now I got something to do. Goodnight!" I said closing my door.

Amy's POV

I was in the dark, sitting in a chair with a dim light hanging down above me. Tape covered my mouth as rope is tied around my entire body. I feel the slightest breaths on my shoulder. It gave me a slight chill. I heard a soft whisper, the voice sounding dry and raspy. I couldn't identify who the person was but their voice seemed different and cold.

"Let's see if your little boyfriend will get you out of this." The voice said with an evil laugh. The laugh was deafening. It feels like it's going on forever. I felt something sharp on my neck. It was a knife being held at my throat. I closed my eyes hoping everything would just end.

I wake up, feeling startled by the nightmare that I had. It felt so realistic. I shook my head trying to get over the silly nightmare.

It was really early in the morning about 6am as I yawned. I tried to get up but something was blocking me from moving, it was Shadow. He had his arms around me, almost protecting me. I heard a low and deep voice coming from behind me.

"Stay with me, Rose." Shadow said. I froze as he spoke to me with his eyes shut. I turned around and faced him. His chest was moving up and down at a steady pace. I layed my head on his chest and got comfortable. We went back to sleep for a few more hours. When I got up Shadow was gone. I wondered where he went.

Shadow's POV

I was in front of Rouge's house waiting for her to come out. We have a mission to do in space ARK. Rouge finally opened the door and had her spy outfit on. It wasn't necessary in my opinion.

"Did you tell Amy that she's going too?" Rouge asked. I was dumbfounded when she said that. Amy's going too? I had no idea.

"Why didn't you tell me this last night?" I asked. She shrugged.

"I thought I did honestly. I'll call her." She said.

"Hey hun you got a mission with me and Shadow, come over to my house asap. Okay bye hun!" Rouge said as she hung up. Ten minutes later Amy comes up running.

"I'm here." Amy said while panting. I should've teleported to her. I'm an idiot.

"So are we ready?" I asked. They both nodded. They grabbed onto my arms as we chaos controlled to space. Once we got there the place was dark. Rouge turned on a flashlight and gave it to me.

"Stay close Rose." I said. I found the hand print as the machine scanned my hand and cut the lights on. We walked in cautiously and went into the laboratory. I found a computer and turned on the camera's inside space ARK and I easily find Eggman walking around the place. This egg needs to know where his place is. I urged Rouge to come closer to me so Rose wouldn't hear what I have to say.

"I think I should just kill Eggman to get this over with. He will only repeat the same thing everytime." I said in a low whisper.

"I agree with you, get it over with and leave his body in space." Rouge said. Now that's something I can deal with.

"Amy and Rouge, stay together and I'll go out on my own." I said while walking away.

"Let me go with you Shadow." Amy said. I sighed.

"Things will get real ugly and blood would be spilled everywhere." I said trying to convince her otherwise.

"No I'm still going with you if you like it or not." Amy said while walking up beside me.

"Hmph, fine." I said. Rose followed me into several rooms and there was no luck finding Eggman. He must've moved rooms while Rose and I were arguing. I hear loud noises coming from the other side of ARK.

"Hold my hand." I said. She did as I said and we chaos controlled to another room. When we teleported we were in the room with Eggman and his robots. Rouge was trying to fight the bots off.

"I'll help Rouge with the bots, you take down Eggman." Amy said as she got her piko hammer out. I ran up Eggman and got pushed back by a force field. Then his machine started shooting bullets at me and I'm not going down so easily. My name is Shadow the Hedgehog for a reason. I ran around Eggman until he got dizzy and shut down his machine that he used to attack me with.

"Die Eggman." I said pulling my gun to his head.

"This isn't the end Shadow. Robots do it now!" Eggman yelled and I realized they pressed the self destruct button and I turned around about to shoot Eggman's head off. I shot Eggman and he didn't die. He made his evil laugh and tried pushing me away. I aimed for the chest and saw his lifeless body fall on the floor and his blood splattered everywhere. Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at Eggman dead on the floor.

"What are you waiting for? This place will self destruct in any second." I said with a growl. The robots started scrambling around trying to figure out what to do. Rouge and Amy grabbed my arms as we were about to chaos controll back home.

"Chaos control!" I shouted. We teleported back to earth.

"Shadow where'd Amy go? I think she's still in space!" Rouge said to me. I teleported back to see Rose being held by bots and screaming.

"Shadow save me!!" She screamed to me.

"Ten....nine....eight..." the computer was saying. I didn't have time to think so I did a chaos spear to the robots and grabbed Rose. We teleported back before space ARK self destructed. When we got back I looked up at see an explosion. This hit different since I was created there. All of the memories are gone for good but will forever be in my head. I looked down and shook my head. I can't believe Eggman did that but I'm glad he's dead.
