Chapter 8: The Mission

Amy's POV

Finally time for some action and it was tonight. How long I've been waiting for this time to come. I've been wanting to kick some ass lately.

I walked over to Rouge's house and knocked on her door. She opened the door to let me inside. I looked around her house and it was a mess. It was broken glass everywhere and some trash from last night. "Rouge what happened in here?" I asked. "Let's say someone got a bit too carried away with something." She said. I shooked in my head in disbelief but went with it. "Yeah.. I'm sure that's what happened.." I said. Me and Rouge started to clean up but I still wondered what happened. "So, what really happened Rouge? I asked. "Well.. after you left the cookout everyone came inside and more drama happened. Especially with Sonic, gosh that hedgehog dies for attention." Rouge said. "Sonic.." I said. I still had feelings for him but it still hurts. I shooked my head. "He is trouble, him and that squirrel of his." Rouge said. I laughed at the fact she called Sally a squirrel. I mean she is similar to one so why not be one.

About an hour later we were done cleaning up. I was glad because it took a while to do it. It was almost dark which means almost time for the mission. Rouge sat down on her couch with her laptop in her lap. She motioned me to come over beside her. "Here is the data that we need to get. If we don't get it, the information will be leaked out for all of Mobius to see and not everyone needs to know about it. Only certain selected members of organizations are able to know about it." Rouge explained. "Are those.. locations of deadly weapons around Mobius?" I asked. "Yes it is, but if it goes into the wrong hands.. we all could end up dead. Which is why we need to retrieve it from the thieves before anything bad happens." She said. This mission was big and was in the fate of me and Rouge. "Alright.. I'm ready for it." I said as I stood up to summon my piko hammer.

"Alright pinky I see you got your weapon but are you prepared for anything that could come your way?" Rouge asked. "Um.. I should be." I said with a nervous laugh. Rouge shook her head and motioned me to follow her down to her basement. I've never been in her basement before honestly. I looked around as we got further into her basement. It was dark until she turned on the light. I looked around and I saw robots around but they weren't turned on. Rouge finally turned around and looked at me. "So this is where our quick little training starts." She said. I summoned my piko hammer as Rouge turned on the robots. One of them came at me and I swung my hammer at it and it flew and hit the wall and was shattered to pieces. Three more come and surround me. I got ready to swing but I took out only two of them out until one robot knocked me off of my feet. I grunted while scrambling up and I finally hit it and it destroyed.

"You could use some work but it'll do for now." Rouge said. I sighed but forced a smile on my face. Rouge returned the smile. "Well, you know Shadow can always teach you something. If you know what I mean." Rouge said with a playful wink. "Rouge! We aren't even friends. We are practically strangers to each other!" I protested. Rouge rolled her eyes. "Come on we have no time to lose." Rouge said. I sighed as I followed her out of the basement.

Soon we ended up in a factory looking place. Typical for crime to be held at I suppose. Rouge and I were wearing dark stealthy clothing for we wouldn't be spotted and that we blended in with the walls. We entered from a vent and crawled our way inside. God it was a bigger place than I expected. We jumped from the vents and into a quiet room. I almost fell but Rouge caught me before it happened. "Be more careful darling. We can't risk getting caught." Rouge said with a whisper. "Sorry." I whisper. I was slightly disappointed that I almost blew our cover before we even got anywhere but I shooked my head and focused again. It was a tiny window showing another room. Rouge peeked through it. "Well.. at least it's clear for a moment but we need to move quickly." She said. I nodded as we headed out. We moved quickly in the shadows. We stopped as we heard a couple of voices nearby. We peered over at them. Luckily it was only two of them. "Should we take them out?" I asked in a whisper. "Wait a second, we need to see what they do before we take them out." Rouge said. I nodded. The guys were talking for a while now and we didn't have all night. "We can take them out now." Rouge said. We snuck up on them and did a choke hold until we knew they were unconscious. We pulled them away in the shadows unseen.

Soon we found a computer room with a flash drive near a computer. I assume it's the information we need. I reached to grab it but a voice stopped me. "What are you doing?" A man's voice said. I turned around to see Dr. Eggman with his robots. I quickly grabbed the flash drive and summoned my piko hammer as Rouge and I got in a fighting stance prepared for what Eggman has to throw at us. "Attack them!" Eggman said. Several robots came attacking us. With the small training at Rouge's place, I was able to take out the robots with Rouge. "Are you done yet Eggman?" Rouge asked. Eggman grunted. "I'll get you two next time!" He said as he flew away. Rouge and I quickly got out of the place until we saw the two guys awake and blocking us. "Don't worry, I got this." I said. I smacked them with my piko hammer and they went flying and hit a wall. We quickly left and went to Rouge's house.

"Nice job pinky." She said. "Why thank you Rouge." I said with a giggle. I gave Rouge the flash drive. "I'll send it to GUN and they'll know what to do with it." She said. "Now I think it's time for both of us to head to bed." She added. "But Rouge, I feel pumped up. We can't end it now!" I protested. "Yes we can." She insisted. I sighed in defeat as I headed back home. I took a shower and relived the mission in my head. It was really fun actually. I wonder if they would let me on other missions with Rouge. I got out the shower and went to sleep.
