Chapter 20: Memories

Shadow's POV

"Truth is, I'm in love with you Rose." I said. I looked at her and she had gone silent. I don't know what she's feeling but its hard to read her. We sat there in silence for a moment as she looked shocked that I said it. I won't deny how I feel about my Rose.

"Rose you don't have to give me an answer today." I finally said, breaking the tension. I stood up to head out the room until Rose said something.

"Shadow I think I have something for you as well." She said in a low voice. My ears arched up, surprised by her response. I hadn't realized that I moved closer to Rose after she said that.

"If I'm being honest... I think I liked you for a while now." She said has she stared into my eyes. Her gorgeous emerald eyes stared into mine as I fell into a daze. The endless possibilities that we could possibly do but I'm getting ahead of myself. I realized that she was waiting for me to say something but I just nodded.

I chuckled and said, "Naturally, I knew about your little crush on me." She blankly stared at me with shock like she had no words to what I just said.

"B-But how? I'm not that easy to read." She exclaimed. I raised my eyebrow and she sighed.

"Rouge made it obvious too. Whenever I'm around she wanted us together, like the first time we met. Especially the time I had to watch you at this dance club." I said. Rose looked at me with slight confusion.

"Watch me? How come I don't remember this?" She asked while rubbing her hand through her quills. I chuckled slightly.

*Flash back*

A few days after I met Amy Rose, Rouge was at my window watching me sleep.

"Rouge what the hell are you doing?" I asked with a groan. She giggles and opens my window and climbs through. I let out a loud sigh as I got out of my bed.

"Awe don't be like that with me Shadow, besides I need you to do me a favor today." She said. I rolled my eyes and kept quiet. She chuckled to herself quietly before speaking again.

"I need you to watch over someone for me while I handle some business." She said. I groaned. Not this again.

"Hear me out Shadow. My friend Amy is going out to a club and I can't be there for her tonight." She explained. I rolled my eyes and groaned.

"If you can't go with her then reschedule it." I hissed. Rouge let off a shrug as I sighed. I finally gave in as being the girl's babysitter.

"Thank you Shadow, I promise she won't be that much to handle." Rouge said with a giggle. I rolled my eyes as she flew out my window. Rouge is just trying to set me up, I'm not actually going to babysit some annoying child.

Later, I went to the club and waited for Rose to show up. I hadn't seen her yet, so I waited outside in the shadows of a nearby alley. I let out a sigh, if Rouge made me waste my precious time she will pay.

A little while later I see Rose walk up, she looks like she's with the purple cat and the bunny. Damn it, Rouge had me out here when she's with others. I let out a low growl in frustration.

My ears perked up when I listened into their conversation.

"So why didn't Rouge come with us again?" Blaze asked.

"Rouge had something important to do." Amy said.

"What was so important Miss Amy?" Cream asked. Amy let off a shrug.

Their conversation faded when they went inside the club where it was loud and... colorful. I let off a slight shiver as I snuck inside after them. They can't know I'm here but that won't be an issue.
