I paced back and forth between the two oak trees on the edge of the Alpha house land.

Max hand-linked me telling me that the Greenwood's had left, and that they hadn't told them what was going on.

I should go back to the house but I didn't know if my wolf could shift back.

I was feeling stronger. Maybe this was just what I needed.

"Brenna and Carter are gone, come home" Justin linked me. It was around 5 in the morning, I had school soon.

I tried to force my wolf back but she just shifted into my body, keeping part control.

She walked into the house but naked and walked right up to my room. The guys must have been in Justin's room because I didn't see them.

My wolf, Kaylee started getting me ready for school. She showered before heading to my closet. She slipped into some high waisted black jeans then put on a peach hoodie. She put my hair into French braids then looked in the mirror. My normally light eyes were a dark brown, almost a black color.

I tried to take back control but she forced me back. She grabbed my bag then headed downstairs. Max looked up at me as I walked into the kitchen.

He sighed. "Hey Sis," He said knowing it was Kaylee and not me. "Justin told me," he told me as he handed me a pop tart.

"Why were they here?" Kaylee asked, she knew I was thinking it. "Because Carter has business with dad. If I had known I would have said no" he sighed and looked at me.

"I'm regretting not beating the shit out of him" he growled. I laughed and shook my head. Kaylee felt comfortable so I took the opportunity to take back the main control, but she was still there. "I have to go," I told him as I headed for the Bronco that was parked out front.

I pulled up to school and let Beatrix get out at the front doors before heading to find a parking spot.

I parked then headed into school. I saw Carter waiting by my locker, looking down at his phone. He looked mad. He looked up when I opened my locker and grabbed my books. "Good morning beautiful," he said as he smiled at me. I looked over at him, and shook my head.

"Did you think I wouldn't find out?" I asked as I looked back in my locker.

"What?" He questioned, seeming a bit scared.

He was a wolf. He was an alpha. He was with another girl. It could have been any of them.

"What is this to you?" I said as I motioned between us. "This is..." he didn't know what to say. I grabbed my keys out of my pocket.

"We're a couple," he said as I looked away. "Really. Because it didn't seem like it when you have your arm around that pretty Black haired girl" I said before slamming my locker.

"I can explain," he said as he grabbed my arm. "Thank you. The anger of seeing what kind of a man my mate really is helped my wolf surface" I said as I pulled away.

"Your one of us?" He questioned. "I'm part of the pack you're trying to destroy" I laughed. "I knew who you were all along. I just needed to see who you really were for myself"

"I'm disappointed honestly. You're an asshole. All you care about is power, and having a pretty girl on your arm"

I sighed before continuing. "We're you gonna reject me?" I asked him and he shook his head.

"Then why? Why when you know I'm your mate are you parading her around telling people she's your mate" I growled make him look at me in shock. Like he didn't fully believe me till that.

"Because I wasn't sure how to tell you," he told me. "I didn't know how long I would have to work up to telling you. I have to keep up appearances" he said as he tried to reach for me, I moved away. "Don't touch me" I whispered.

"Why are you still here?" I asked as I took another step back. "Because Your here," he said as he looked me in the eyes.

"Well, then I will leave," I said as I looked at my keys. I turned and left, not giving him time to reply.
