Hello my wonderful readers! I know it's been a LONG time since I last updated, and it's completely my fault :( Life got hectic and I just couldn't prioritize writing fanfiction during that time. This is my lasy year as an undergrad as well (first day of class!) so it isn't gonna get easier, but I'm hoping that after pushing out this chapter I can spend some time to finish the whole thing (we're almost there!) I've gotten some questions about whether I'll be writing about the EXTRA GAME, but with how things are going currently and the fact that I haven't read the manga (nor watched the movie yet, oops), I think it's safe to say that the story will end with the end of Winter Cup. At least for now. ;)
Thank you all who have stayed with me during this journey, and I hope to not disappoint by finally finishing this sometime in the next few months!

When Kuroko walked down the hall towards the vending machines, all he had in mind was which flavor of milk tea he should get in order to appease the stubborn girl since he felt he was too harsh on her. However, he would never think to be faced with a situation like this. It made his head pound and arms weak; it felt like a bulldozer just rammed through the building and hit him square in the chest without any warning.
Seeing who he considered his biggest rival steal a kiss from the girl of his affections, and seeing that she didn't push him away even from shock, he was absolutely heartbroken... But seeing the scared and confused look on Tomoko's face, he forced down the bile that wanted to surface and pretended like he hadn't seen what transpired minutes before.
"I came to get something to drink," was his only explanation. If his act of pretense didn't sit well with the girl, she showed no signs of calling his bluff. Though, it was obvious that she still felt extremely uncomfortable. He didn't know if she could feel that he was, too, but it was fortunate that their moment of silence was broken by newcomers.
"Tetsu-kun! Kuma-chan!" Momoi's sweet voice echoed through the hall. The girl was walking with Aomine but she started to run towards the blue haired shadow. "Congratulations on the win!" she glomped the blue haired boy as soon as she was within reaching distance and hugged him affectionately with a blush adorning her face. "You were so amazing! I feel a bit bad for Ki-chan but I'm so glad Seirin won!"
As the girl continued to ramble about how Kise had probably went off somewhere crying until someone could console him, Tomoko shuffled her feet around awkwardly at how accurate the girl's statement was. Meanwhile, Aomine had picked up the tension and gloom between the two. Seeing that his childhood friend was not going to let Kuroko go anytime soon, Aomine stepped towards Tomoko with an expectant look in his eyes.
"Oi," he nudged her but she still seemed dazed. There was definitely something amiss and he was determined to get to the bottom of it right away. "Alright, what's wrong, Chibi?"
