I look out the window of my parents' old Mercedes, watching the other classy cars zoom in great colorful blurs as they go by.

I still couldn't believe we were moving.

I am Evelyn Thorn. I'm sixteen and am going into eleventh grade. Recently, my parents, Howard and Gwen, decided that we were going to move.

I sigh and turn to the front, thinking back to that day they had made the big decision.

"Honey! Evelyn! Keith! We have an announcement to make!" called my mother. "Get down here!"

I was in the middle of my dancing hour. At about seven in the evening, I plug in my iPod to a big stereo thing I got at Brookstone and dance to One Direction. LOVE 'EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'It's gotta be YOU!!!! Only YOU!!! It's got to be YOOOOUUUUU!!!!!' Harry sang.

I groaned and pushed pause on my iPod. "Sorry Harry." I said, and giggled.

I stepped downstairs and frowned at them. "I was busy."

"Doing what? Dancing? You know that One Direction stinks, right?" Keith, my annoying older brother, said. I ignored him.

"Ahem. You're mother and I have decided that.......umm.......that we are going........to move." Dad said uncomfortably.

I laughed. What? They had to be joking. Moving!? Ha. Not that I had any friends or anything, I just liked the neighborhood. No, really. I had, like, one friend at Westerntown High.

"What?" Keith looked happy, but surprised and mad at the same time.

"Yes, yes we are," Mom said. She looked sorry. "We are really sorry, but your dad got a lawyer job in New York City."

I gasped. New York City?! What the fuck? I did NOT want to go to that place. It was big and scary and way too loud.

"Holy shit!!!! We are?!?!?" Keith yelled.

"Language! Keith, you know better," my dad said. "And yes, we are moving to New York City."

I snap back into the present and watch as Keith shoves a donut in his big mouth. "Eww dude, really?"

"Yeeeesss," Keith says with his mouth full. "You got a problem with that?"

"Yes! Of course I do, bastard!" I hiss so Mom and Dad won't hear me.

Keith grins, and his teeth are full of disgusting, chewed up donut. I cringe and look away.

"Mom! Are we there yet?" I complain. We came from North Carolina and we'd been driving for three hours.

"No, not yet," Dad says. "About seven more hours to go."

I groan and take a powdered donut from the donut box. I take a small bite from it and relish the taste, unlike Keith who was currently chowing down hard.

I finish the donut and take out my iPod. I grab my earplugs from my pocket and put them in he iPod. I scroll down my playlist of One Direction. I choose What Makes You Beautiful.

'You're insecure, don't know what for. You're turning heads when you walk through the do-o-or.' Sang Liam.

I smile and lean back in my chair, listening to the sexy voices of One Direction.

'Everyone else in the room can see it, everyone else but you.'

I look out my window at the nice scenery, taking in the last of the home I knew. I almost cried.

'Baby you light up my world like nobody else, the way that you flip yo hair gets me overwelmed, but when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell, you don't know, oh oh, you don't know you're beautiful!!!!!'

I look over a Keith stuffing his face. Yeah right.

Then I close my eyes and fall asleep.
