"I heard that you sing! As if!" Brianna scoffed. "I am the best singer in the CITY and everybody knows that. Anyone who denies it will be given a special treat. And Jackie, don't we give newcomers something special as well?"
"Yes, yes we do," Jackie says enthusiastically. Brianna smirks triumphantly.
"So, new girl, do you want both of your presents, or only one? If you want one, admit that I'm a better singer than you and you're a piece of shit."
I am scared out of my wits. I've never actually gotten bullied before; in my old school, I was just invisible.
"Uh," I mumble. What should I say?????? Oh, no. Oh, no.
"Brianna, lay off!" Gretchen snaps. "You know that you don't actually sing well, you just think you can!"
Brianna looks a little shocked, then pissed.
"So you think you can sing better than me?" She snarls. "Then we should get BOTH of them!" She nods at Jackie and Meredith like, 'Get ready, girls,'
Gretchen rolls her eyes. "No, of course you sing better than me!" She says fearlessly. How can she do that??
"Then GET OUT OF THE WAY!!!" Brianna screams and motions to Jackie and Meredith. They step toward Gretchen and grab her, then forcefully shove her into the passing crowd. I hear Gretchen cry out once, then I don't see or hear her anymore.
"Well, we're waiting!" Brianna says. What do I do?! I feel like crying. Again.
"You'd better decide, or we'll decide for you!" Meredith threatens. Brianna and Jackie nod. I don't know what to say. I don't want either "treat." But I don't really think I'm a better singer than Brianna, so I guess I could say-
"You're taking too long! Let us decide for you," Brianna growls with a dangerous glint in her eye. "And we choose. . .BOTH!!"
The three girls step over to me, and I take a step back. No, I was gonna say one!! Don't give me both! And seriously, don't the passing people notice anything?
Jackie grabs my arms and shoves them behind my back. A shocking pain goes through them. How can she be so strong?!
I struggle, trying to free myself, but Jackie whispers in my ear, "Don't even try, or you'll regret it."
I still struggle, and Jackie digs her manicured nails into my skin. Oh, the pain! I gasp, wondering how nails were so painful. She then tightens her grip on my arms, which basically stops the blood flow in them. And to top it off, she pulls my arms behind me even more, and I gasp again.
"Stop! Please! Jackie, don't break my arms!" I say. Jackie snorts and does it even more. I whimper in pain. Please stop!
Meredith goes behind me as well and grips my head with her long, sharp nails. I make a pained noise, and she pulls my head back, and with her nails, too! I make another noise.
Just then the bell rings, but the girls make no move to get to class. They watch, amused, as the last few people scramble to get to class. About five maybe glance at us, and one jock even smirks. When the hallway is empty, though, the girls turn back to me. Oh, help!
"The bell rung," I manage to get out. "We're late."
"And I care because?" Brianna asks. I whimper some more. All the girls snicker at my strange noise.
"Stop! Please! I was only going to say one! I only want one! I'll say what you want me to say!" I beg.
Brianna smirks. "Too late, new girl," and pulls her fist back. Shit.
"Jackie, hold her down!" She barks, and pulls her fist back even more. I close my eyes and wait for the punch.
"How many should we give her?" Asks Brianna. She looks at me. "How many do you think?"
I'm afraid to say 0, so I say, "One,"
Jackie laughs and Meredith giggles. Brianna's eyes look amused. "One, eh? Now for that, I'll give you four." NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! 👊👊👊👊
Brianna pulls her fist back again. It gets closer, and closer, and closer until it makes contact with my stomach.
"Oof!" I grunt. Ow, that girl can punch! Jackie holds me in place, so I can't fall back.
Brianna punches me again. I gasp, my hands struggling to get away. But Brianna's fist goes into my stomach again. I scream, but no one seems to hear me. When Brianna punches one final time, Jackie lets go of me and allows me to fall to the ground. I seem to fall in slow motion. When my head hits the ground, it seems to crack and open up, but it doesn't. The pain in my stomach and arms is so forceful that I cry. There. They can see me cry.
Brianna looks like a proud mother hen.
"Good job, girls. Now tomorrow we'll deal with her again."
They walk off to their next class, leaving me pained on the blue tiled hallway floor.
