"WORRY" Arlo X Reader

It was currently 1:00 am as (name) was packing the things she needed to head to the ruins tomorrow. "And done." (name) said sighing out loud as she placed the heavy satchel on her table. She slowly made her way to bed changing into pajamas and doing her nightly routine. She laid down on her bed puffing up her pillow before gently placing her head upon the soft pillow. As soon her head hit the pillow, (name) was already in a deep sleep.

The next morning she went to the round table with her best friend mint. (Name) ate crispy pancakes and a glass of red tea, while mint had had the same with some rainbow lemonade. "So, (name), got any plans today?" Mint asked taking his last sip of his drink. "Well i am heading to the ruins for the whole day today. You?" (Name) asked finishing her breakfast. "Not much really, besides heading out to Vega 5 for plans." Mint said yawning." "Well i better head out, ill see you later!" said (name) winking at her friend making the boy smile.

(Name) rushed out the round table running twords Ruins #2. As she finally headed inside, she was greeted by a scowling Higgins. "Well, well, well, I see my competition trying to stalk me?" Higgins said glaring at (name). (Name) rolled her eyes and continued to her work. After about some good hours the cave started to shake. "What's going on?!" Higgins yelled as (name) pushed Higgins out of the way as a piece of a sharp rock almost hit Higgins. You both ran twords the exit. Unfortunately, a boulder blocked the doorway twords your escape as the shaking began to stop.

Meanwhile back in portia..
Paulie was doing push-ups as he felt the ground to rumble making Paulie jump up in surprise. Martha began to feel the ground shake beneath her feet as she brought out some fresh baked pastries. Sam began to feel the vibration under her feet as she stood in the civil corps HQ with Remington. "Earthquake?" sam asked confused, as the ground began to shake violently. The cup on Remington's desk hurrled it's way twords Sam almost bashing her head with it. (Sam and Remington are downstairs while the desks are upstairs.) suddenly the shaking stopped. Making Arlo almost falling down the stairs as he came to check on his friends.

In the ruins~
Higgins and (name) were sitting up against a wall sweating to death and breathing heavily. The heat began to build in, as the air became limited for the two builders. Higgins clutched his leg in pain, while (name) clutched her arm as blood dripped onto the dirt. Earlier, Higgins and (name) tried moving the boulder only to injure themselves severely. (Higgins fell and cut his leg, (name) pushed the boulder to hard, causing her to slip and cut her arm.) (name) had used all her bandages on Higgins, since his injury was the worst. "We might as well die in here." Higgins mumbled as you sighed. You didn't want to die. But there was nothing you could do. "Look, we gotta try to get out of here. You wouldn't want to die like this. Would you?" you asked getting up. Higgins looked at you with a surprised look but then agreed. "Maybe for the first time, we actually can agree on something Rival." Higgins said getting. After about a few hours, you and Higgins tried countless times to find a way out, but there was no use. Suddenly Higgins passed out to lack of air and the heat. "t-there's no use. The air is too limited..." you said drifting off as he collapsed on the dirt ground. "W-wait...no don't give up now.."Higgins said as he lifted your body close to the exit trying to save the both of you. It wasn't very long until he passes out himself.

Back at portia...
Arlo was looking all over the place for (name). He was a worried mess. He couldn't stop pacing back and fourth in the civil corps HQ, he refused to eat, and wouldn't rest his body. Remington was trying to convince Arlo that (name) was fine and that she is capable of herself. Sam tried giving Arlo his favorite foods, only to have Arlo reject it all. He was too worried about his girlfriend. Portia was a mess too. Everyone seemed to notice the absents of the two builders, and were worrying also. The next day the civil corps went to search for the missing builders. They checked the workshops, the town, and even the dessert. And yet there was no luck. Sam suggested to look in the ruins. As they headed for the second ruin, the trio found that the door was being blocked. Arlo busted the door down with one kick, as he saw his unconscious girlfriend and Higgins on the floor covered in sweat, dirt, and somewhat blood. Sam and Remington help Higgins to his feet as Arlo lifted (name) bridal style rushing to doctor Xu clinic. Arlo never left (name) side during the whole operation. Higgins became conscious before (name) making Arlo worry even more. Higgins leg patched up, allowing him to work again. "Captain. If you don't mind, tell my rival I said... T-thank you." Higgins said trying to get the words out. Arlo felt that Higgins finally had a heart. "I should be thanking you Higgins." Arlo said as Higgins nodded leaving.

During the night (name) woke up in a dark room, to recognize that the dark room was the clinic. (Name) looked at her arm to see it patched up and glanced over to her side to see a sleeping Arlo. You shifted in the bed a little as you manage to sit up straight. Your actions made Arlo open his eyes to see you awake. Arlo got up and gave you hug crying in the process, making you feel bad. "What's wrong?" you asked softly caressing Arlo's soft red-orange hair. "I-i wasn't there t-to protect you, and y-you got hurt." Arlo said sniffling. You sighed as you cupped Arlo's face making him look at you with his shiny oceanic eyes. "Arlo, please stop crying, im sorry for getting myself into this and making you worry. I promise to be more careful, okay?" you asked smiling softly at him. He nodded as you kiss his forehead softly making him smile back at you, hugging you. "Please don't make me worry again, alright?" Arlo said while you rested your head on his chest while hugging him. "I promise."
