"Vacation!" Arlo X Reader

It was a bright sunny day in Portia. Everyone was out in the great weather playing, chatting, or working. It was just a great day... Except for you. A big cotton llama charged for you again as you moved out of the way just in time. You managed to vanquish the wild animal just in time. You sighed out quite tired. It's been a long week for you and Arlo. You weren't able to see each other as much due to your busy jobs. You were constantly running back and fourth countless times. "Here are your commission items." You said handing a bag to the church. You walked down the hill ever so tired. As you stopped at the fountain, you saw Arlo. "(Name)!" He said catching up to you. "Hey." You said softly giving him a hug. "Wanna go eat? I'm on break right now." Arlo said holding your hand. You nodded smiling.

You two were already married and having a happy life. Sad part was, you guys never got to see each other as much during the day due to work. Sometimes, Arlo wouldn't even show up because he had night shifts. It was rare to see each other at all. Arlo sat across from you in one of the booths. You sat in the other side. "So how was work lately?" He asked with a soft smile. "Stressful... Everyone is commissioning me a lot lately, and let's just say... Higgins isn't really happy." You replied sighing. You looked down tired. "I know something that we can do. Just the two of us. After all, we need it." Arlo said clasping your hand. You looked up curious. "A vacation. Im stressed, you're stressed, this can be a break for us." He said.

"But-" You said scrambling to reply. "Love. You need this. No more work until then." He said as the food arrived. You both ate and chatted. You were grateful to have such a wonderful husband like Arlo.  The two of you finished eating, leaving to go home. He held your waist as you two walked down the hill to your home. You opened the door plopping on the couch. He sat next to you removing his jacket and boots. He laid down and you laid down next to him on his chest. "Let's go to starlight island tommorow." He said holding your waist. "That sounds like a good idea.." You said closing your eyes. He held you close falling asleep. The next day was pretty fun. You and Arlo packed picnic things to go to starlight island. You sat on the soft sand as Arlo jumped in the water splashing you. "Hey!" You giggled. He came back up to the surface his hair wet. "You should join me here love! It's nice and refreshing!" He called out going underwater again. You laughed diving in the water as well. You and Arlo began splashing one another with the water. Soon after, you began to dive and explore the wild sea life. You and Arlo finally got back up to the beach taking in the nice sunset. "This is nice. We should do thus more often." You sighed happily in his arms. Arlo kissed you softly. You kissed back. "I agree. We both needed this a bit too much..." Arlo joked holding your waist, back hugging you. You two watched the sunset enjoying each others company.
