You walked out the mayor's office, rubbing your temples, sighing a little. For one, you felt terrible for just the stupid outburst towards Arlo, and two, you have him as a partner to do this mission you were tasked to. You went ahead and checked the map Gale had handed over, as Arlo suddenly came behind you arms crossed. "You know, instead of the outburst you had back there, you could have told me earlier." Arlo said, as there was a tad bit of worry in his voice. "Look, I'm sorry. Okay? I was just having a bad day, and commissions and stress don't really go together." You replied, feeling a bit bad now, but you were too afraid to say anything. "Then why didn't you let me help you out? (Name), you are my best friend. I understand if I can be a jerk at times, but I want to help you." Arlo said, placing a hand on your shoulder.

You sighed. "Things happen Arlo... and sometimes, not even I can fix it, so how could you? Look, let's just go on with our day, and I'll meet you on your last patrol." You said, pulling away, walking back to your workshop. Arlo was still worried, sighing, continuing on with his schedule. As a last minute decision, you walked to Central plaza, sitting on one of the distant benches, sighing out. You felt someone sit next to you, glancing over. "Higgins, I didn't steal anything, I just got-" "hush builder. I know. I just... wanted to thank you." He said, as You looked over, genuinely surprised. "For...?" "For the project... money has been a bit tight for me, and this could be my break through..." Higgins said, a little embarrassed. "But your one of the top workshop owners right now...?" You asked confused. "I have medical needs you know." Higgins said, as you immediately nodded. "Sorry... but if I knew you had this issue, I would have never taken the project." You said, words honest. Higgins for the first time, smiled towards you. "I appreciate it... but... not to be nosy or be in your business... you seem distressed." Higgins said awkwardly.

"I... look, don't make fun of me, but I like Arlo... or I guess, used to." You mumbled quietly, as Higgins sighed. "Doesn't everyone in this town? I don't blame you builder, but you had a heart knot that day Arlo purposed to Nora to be his girlfriend. I saw how broken you were, right after they hugged eachother. I know the feeling is worst since it was in front of the whole town as well." Higgins said, as you sighed. "I was too late... I over heard them talking at the well... and Arlo specifically said... I would never be his type, since I'm just a friend." You said, as Higgins crossed his arms, adjusting his tie. "I understand how you feel... but he's happy now builder. I think the best thing right now is to let him go. After all, you had him as a friend. And still are now." Higgins said. "You're... you're right. I can't just pity myself all day. I'll be better. I don't need love right now. I need to focus on myself." You said, standing up immediately. "That means, finding myself through the dust. Thank you higgins." You said, immediately running off to find Gust. Higgins just smiled a little, sighing. "What a builder." He murmured, leaving.

"Gust!" You yelled, barging into the construction store, as Gust slightly jumped, in the middle of designing something. "(Name), if it's something urgent, this better be worth my time." Gust said, a little annoyed that his friend just broke his peace. "The plans you had to mail to Atara. Give them to me. I'll deliver it for you." You said, as Gust's eyes widened. "Now?" He asked, shocked. "Yes now dummy." You said. "What's the reason? I just don't trust you on this." Gust said, looking at you suspiciously. "Okay, okay, just think. Your plans, go to Atara, gets approved, connections with Portia, more tourists, more attractions, builders to build attractions, and boom! Money sponsors!" You said, as Gust sighed, smiling a little. "Let me guess, wanna help Higgins?" Gust asked smiling still. "Well... yes." You said sighing in defeat.

"Then here are my plans. Don't loose them." Gust said, as You nodded, taking them, immediately running out. You can count on me!" You said, sprinting to your house. You immediately started to pack, getting your horse ready, making sure everything was by the door, for a quick trip in and out. Now, you just had to relax, and not think about anything. It was the last day of fall, and the snow could come anytime soon, so you adjusted your coat, heading into town on your horse once again. "(Name)!" Sam called, running over on her horse riding next to you. "Sam... what's up?" You asked, as the weather was a bit more chillier. "The mission, the whole Atara thing... do you want me to accompany you? I could convince Gale, and-" Sam said, as You spoke up; "Sam. I'm okay. Promise. I know I was being childish, but I'm fine now." You replied honestly, as she sighed nodding, adjusting her scarf. "Arlo is worried yknow... he thinks he did something wrong. I don't blame him for anything, nor you, but he's broken. Not even Nora could cheer him up right now." Sam said, as You just frowned a little.

"He's your best friend (Name). If anything, your the only person he can rely on." Sam said. "You're right... but not right now. I have to wait for perfect timing. Now isn't the best time for it, yknow?" You asked, sighing. "I understand, but please talk to him." Sam replied, leaving on her horse. You could only think quietly, going to trot away on your horse into the round table. You sat at the bar, ordering some food for your own, eating quietly, before someone sat next to you. "(Name)..." Nora said, as you almost choked on your food, swallowing. "Nora- what are you doing here?-" "I have something to tell you... so please listen." Nora said, her eyes filled with sadness. "I... go ahead." You sighed.

I'm so sorry I haven't updated I'm so long, I was busy with work and such, but I feel more motivated to write again! Here's some updates I plan on doing for this book-

-rewriting chapters to less cringy and more situation and better dialouge
