It's currently raining. Rain in Portia is usually very... relaxing. A calming sensation, but today... something happened. The man you had the very eyes for, confessed to a girl that you never liked or disliked. She... she was special to him. You should be more supportive... right? No... you couldn't. Not when you could hear the whole town buzzing with the happy news. Worst of all, in public. Public. Humiliating... a small heart knot laid in your delicate fingers, as your hands became shaky.

"(Name)! Isn't this great? I finally was able to ask her out." Arlo said, much more happier than usual. Right when you had the peace you wanted, no, needed, he decides to show up. You had to stay positive. Even if it was painful. "That's great Arlo. I'm proud of you. Any special plans?" You asked, forcing a smile, as you sat on the fountain ledge. God, that fake smile. It was painful. It hurt you more than your already shattered heart. "Maybe a nice date? Walking around town, going to eat, Yknow, the usual." Arlo said, humming.

"That's great to hear. I expect some good news soon." You replied, trying to keep your voice steady. "Well, I have to get going! Commissions can't do themselves!" You said quickly. Arlo smiled, holding your shoulder before you could even get up. "Thank you for being the friend I needed when no one else could be. Don't overwork now." Arlo said, getting up. You nodded weakly, standing up, quickly running to your home once Arlo was out of sight. Friend...? Just a friend. Those hurt more than needles. You stared at your two story house, gulping. You had builded this house from scratch and no money. You could remember all those hard years, where you had to starve, just to work on your home just wanting to start a life... a family.

But in the end... was it worth it? Arlo, what am I to you? You opened your door, greeted by the silence of your own home. "I'm just a friend... nothing more. I'm such an idiot... Arlo, you idiot..." You whispered, tears finally breaking from your eyes. You stared at your work desk, picking up the commission, sighing. Arlo's commission was due soon, and you needed to get it in. "Just one more time..." you whispered, grabbing your tools, and the sheet of paper, shoving it in your bag. It was still raining heavily, as you trudged out, boots covered in mud, clothes wet, and hair wet.

You see Nora and Arlo near the well, cuddling close together, under an umbrella. "Be happy. Your still his friend. A friend that can be supportive." You whispered quietly. You opened the Civil corps door, seeing a leaking pipe. "Remington is going to kill me for the mud..." you muttered, going to start fixing the broken pipe. As you were fixing the pipe, hot steaming water suddenly splashed out, burning the soft skin on your hand. "Crap!" You yelled, seeing as your skin was suddenly bleeding. You quickly stopped the water pipe, as it hissed, slowly turning off. You... couldn't feel the pain. It wasn't hurting? Rising the wound under cold water, you still couldn't feel anything.

"I should go see Dr. Xu..." You sighed, as you placed your items down, leaving.
