Chapter 6 Life With A Child In The House

Jackie's POV: it has been crazy since Chloe was born she's cute and all but she's never really happy she cries constantly especially when Chavez and I are in bed sleeping one night we were sound asleep when suddenly we heard Chloe crying in her crib Chavez got up chuckling and shaking his head I stirred a little bit trying to catch some sleep as my baby girl continued crying in the next room Chloe's nursery was right across the hall from our bedroom I was tired we hadn't had any sleep since she was born so I stayed in bed while I guess Chavez went checked on her for me

Chavez's POV: as I laid there in bed with Jackie by my side I thought about everything that has happened this past year or so as I was trying to fall asleep I heard my daughter crying in the other room her nursery I got up chuckling and shaking my head

Here we go again I said softly to myself as I got up

Jackie and I hadn't gotten any sleep since Chloe was born and it was understandable I wasn't annoyed about anything I knew it couldn't be easy for newly parents of five week old baby hell my parents were same way when I was born especially my mother I walked across the hall towards Chloe's nursery Jackie and I thought it would be best to have the nursery across the hall from our bedroom for safe keeping I walked over towards her crib she was crying and moving her little body around I slowly and gently picked her up and bounce her gently and gently patted and rubbed her back she calmed down a bit as I held her but started crying again so I decided to do something that my mother taught me I sat down in a rocking chair that was sitting near Chloe's crib I held Chloe in my arms and I sang a Navajo lullaby one that my mother used to sing to me when I was a baby as I sang the lullaby Chloe looked up at me curiously as she I noticed that her eyes were starting to get heavy and she was falling into a deep restful sleep once she was asleep and she wasn't crying or anything anymore I slowly and quietly got up and laid her down in her crib as I was laying Chloe down Jackie came into the nursery and almost gave me a heart attack and woke up Chloe

What are you doing? Jackie asked curiously

I jumped a little and gasped but luckily I gasped softly so it didn't wake Chloe up I looked over at Jackie placing a hand on my chest as if I was relieved to see her

Shhh I just got her to go back to sleep I said then looking down at Chloe making sure she was asleep and sure enough she was Jackie walked over towards me leaning towards me with her head resting on my shoulder I had both of my arms wrapped around her as we both stared at Chloe watching her sleep so soundly I had to admit that she was just so cute and that Jackie and I were proud to her parents Jackie and I looked at each other and smiled then we kissed and looked back down at our little girl who was sound asleep still

Goodnight sweetheart Jackie said placing a gentle kiss on our baby's forehead I smiled softly as I held Jackie close to me

Goodnight little one I said then we quietly left her nursery closing the bedroom door and going back to our bedroom after we were tucked into our bed we talked about our baby's future

I hope she'll be alright Jackie said

Oh Jackie she'll be alright I mean you said so yourself she's like the female version of me I said

Jackie and I chuckled at that then we kissed and curled up together and went to sleep

Goodnight honey Jackie said

Goodnight I replied then I fell into a deep restful night sleep
