🌸 Abby 🌸
The summer had flown by quickly, currently I was sitting in my empty room on the bed with Chloe and Savannah.
"I can't believe you're leaving tomorrow." Chloe said feeding Savannah. "It's gonna be weird not having you around all the time."
I smiled at her, it was gonna be weird. Tomorrow Zach and I would be leaving for UCLA. "It's gonna be weird not having you guys around." I started tearing up.
"Aw. Abby, we will be down next weekend to visit don't cry." Bryce said coming and sitting next to me. "You and Zach will have each other." He rubbed my back.
"But, I'm leaving my home, dad was supposed to drop me off. He always said that he would be there to drop me off, and now he's gone, you guys aren't coming. I'm not even driving with Zach, we're taking separate cars." I was now fully crying. "I can't do it Bryce."
He held me tightly. "Abby, you can do anything. You are a strong girl. If you need me to come down, I will. But do this with Zach, grow your lives together." I nodded and wiped my tears.
"Promise?"
"Promise." He said wrapping our pinkies together. We laughed, I love being with my family. It's gonna be so hard leaving them behind.
"The party is starting soon, let's go downstairs." I stood up and looked around my room. Tomorrow I'm leaving all of this behind.
I walked downstairs and all my friends were there. I ran up and we group hugged. "This is so hard to do." Jessica said wiping her tears. "We're all leaving for college tomorrow." She sheepishly smiled.
"I know, but we're always gonna be one call away."
"I know but, we've always been together everyday, it's gonna be so weird."
"We'll get through this."
"One call away."
"One call away."
We didn't drink tonight because we were all gonna be driving tomorrow, so far we played beer pong with apple juice, and played suck and blow.
"Why are you so good at this, Abby?" Justin said taking a sip of his drink.
"Let's just say, she knows how to suck and blow." Zach said making everyone laugh, and I blushed.
Later everyone had gone home and Zach and I were sitting on the porch swing. He grabbed my hand and sighed.
"You know I love you right?" He looked at me.
"Yeah, I love you too."
"And I'd never do anything to hurt you. I love you so much Abby." He said kissing me.
"I love you too, Zach. Why are you saying all of this?" He sighed and looked at me.
"Because I love you so much Abby, that it hurts." I smiled at him and kissed him.
"I love you too, Zach." We sat there in silence and swung.
"I gotta get going. I'll see you in the morning Abby." He kissed me and walked to his car.
"See you tomorrow!" He smiled and waved goodbye. Tomorrow was gonna be a long day.
(The next morning)
I threw on my clothes and packed my last bag to go into my car. I looked around and the only thing left was my empty desk, my bed with just sheets on it, and my mirror.
"See you in November." I closed the door and walked downstairs. Bryce and Chloe were making French toast and Bacon. "You didn't have too, Zach and I could stop on the way." They gave me a small smile.
"You know we want too. It's the last we'll be able too in a while." Chloe said passing me a plate.
We ate breakfast talking about when Chloe and Bryce would come to visit and there was a knock on the door.
Bryce got up and answered the door "Abby, Zach wants to talk to you." He said. Coming and sitting down at the table.
I walked outside and Zach had his hands in his pockets. "Sit. Please." He said he looked really upset. I sat down and he came and sat next to me.
"Abby, I don't know how to say this..." I swallowed. I was unsure what was happening. "I'm not going to UCLA."
My heart dropped "wh-What do you mean? We're leaving in a few minutes."
I tried to hold his hands but he pulled away and stood up. "You are going to UCLA and I'm going to Florida State University." I felt sick to my stomach I was losing my best friend.
"Does that mean...you're breaking up with me?" He sighed and looked down.
"Yes, I'm so sorry Abby. I never wanted to hurt you. You are the best thing that's ever happened to me, but..." he was crying "you have to get in that car, and go to UCLA. You need to be on your own, we need to learn how to live without each other. You need to spread your wings, be your own person. You need to have roots before you can have branches..." I was sobbing, he just looked at me and sighed.
"But...what about our plans? You're just gonna give all that up? Why are you doing this?" He stood up and wiped his eyes.
"Abby, this will be best for both of us." He started to walk off the porch. "Goodbye Abby."
"Zach!!!" He just kept walking "Zach!!!" He got in his car. I ran out into the road as he drove off. "Zach..." I sat down on the curb and cried. Bryce came out and hugged me.
"You gotta get on the road to make it by move in" he said he helped me up and we walked over to my car.
"I'll see you next weekend, Abby." He sniffled "I'm so sorry he did that, but you are so strong, now go. Start this new part of your life. Be safe. I love you."
"I love you too BryBry." He smiled at me.
"Text me when you get there Abbs." I gave him one last big hug. I got in my car and backed up.
I may have just lost my boyfriend, and left my family behind. But L.A had so many things in store for me. It was time to become my own person and plant my roots. I knew I was gonna get through this, because I am Bryce Walker's Little Sister.
