Chapter 6: The Night After Homecoming

I was sitting with Jeff on the bleachers when they called for the last dance of the night. "Shall We" he held out his hand and I grabbed it. It was the song we danced to our at Freshman homecoming together. (Should be attached to the top. It's "life to live again" by Brett Young )

"How perfect." I said leaning my head on his chest. We swayed in the crowd of people. "Your lips on my lips, my hands on your hips..." I sang softly and Jeff spun me around.

"I forgot you could sing so well." I blushed. "Abby, I'm serious. You have a beautiful voice."

We stayed swaying in a comfortable silence. "Jeff, thanks for staying with me." He smiled.

"It's my pleasure, plus they kinda just left you here." I playfully smacked his arm. "What? It's the truth. You don't deserve to be treated that way Abby." He hugged me tightly as the song ended.

"I'll grab my coat and purse then we can head out." He nodded and followed me over to the table where my things were sitting. "Can I stay at your place tonight?" I asked putting my coat on.

"Of course, plus you have a drawer of things at my place for these kind of things." We locked are arms together and we walked to his car. "Thank you, for making my crabby night better" he gave me a warm smile.

We rode to his house in silence, I just couldn't bear to go home to Bryce's party after all my friends ditched me at homecoming, I knew they would be there. "You okay?" He asked as he parked the car in his driveway.

I nodded. "Where are your parents?" I asked when I got out of the car noticing their cars were gone.

"They're in Costa Rica for the week." He sounded annoyed. "It's their 'Break From Their Kid' Trip." I gave him a smile.

"So, what I'm hearing is we're totally building a fort in your living room and watching Harry Potter." I gave him puppy eyes.

"Of course!" He laughed as he opened his front door. "I'll get to making the fort you go get dressed then we'll switch." I headed up the stairs to his room and found the drawer with my things and grabbed my pajamas.

I hopped in the shower after taking my makeup off, and got the product out of my hair. Stepping out of the shower I wrapped a towel around myself and my skin care routine then got dressed. "Okay Jeff I'm ready!" I said hopping down the last step of the stairs.  "Woah, this is a bad ass fort!" I snapped a picture and posted it to Instagram.

"Cool right" He said coming out of the kitchen with a huge bowl of popcorn, a bag of Reese's cups and two bottles of Root Beer. "All your favorites." He said crawling into the fort. "Can you grab my laptop?" I nodded and pulled up Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone on his laptop and crawling in next to him.

"Thanks for doing this, I know we haven't done this in forever." He smiled at me.

"I almost forgot, the best part." He pulled out the blanket we made together our 8th grade year. It's a tie blanket, and the one side has blue and white tie dye fabric and the other side is cute tiger print. We thought it was the coolest thing when we made it.

"Oh my gosh, I totally forgot we made this." I cuddled under the blanket and ate some popcorn.

"Best night ever?" He asked when the movie finished.

"Best night ever." I said before falling asleep.

Short Filler Chapter, I decided for  some Best friend action because there has been a lot of drama already and we need a break.
