The Plan

“Do I have to?” I hissed, ducking back around the corner of the building.

“Yes!” Isabel whispered. “Cecilia called me this morning, and she said if you don’t go she will personally kill me!”

I frowned. “How did she get your number?”

Isabel shrugged. “I don’t know. But come on! Go talk to him!”

I glanced around the corner of the building. Zayn was sitting on the park bench, just like Cecilia said he would be.

“I feel like I’m settling a ransom.” I grumbled.

Isabel laughed, but then turned serious. “Right. Go. You promised you would go if Zayn met you someplace else. Harry and Louis aren’t here!”

I sighed. “I did promise.”

She nodded. “I’ll be waiting right here.”

I sighed again, squared my shoulders, and stepped into the park. I shielded my eyes from the sun as I walked. It was early in the day, but it was hot. Typical LA.

Zayn hadn’t seen me yet. I took a few more steps. I could still bail. I sighed as he turned, saw me, and stood up. Too late.

“Hey.” I said as I walked within arm’s reach. Zayn closed the distance between us and grabbed me in a hug, which I meekly returned.

“We were so worried.” He said.

I pulled back. “We?”

Zayn’s face went guilty and he glanced over my shoulder. I pulled back and saw Liam and Niall walking behind me.

“You were following us.” I said accusingly.

Liam grinned. “Ever since you left the apartment.”

“Now I really feel like I’m involved with a ransom.” I groaned.

Niall walked towards me cautiously, as if he was afraid I was going to run.

I smiled. “I’m not ditching quite yet.”

Niall ran at me and grabbed me in a big bear hug. I buried my face in his neck.

“I missed you guys.” I sighed.

“We missed you too.” Liam said, joining in on the hug.

“Group hug!” Zayn called. It only lasted a few seconds though. I wriggled out of the embrace with an apologetic smile. It just reminded me too much of Louis.

“So. What are we going to do?” I said, sitting on the bench. Niall plopped down next to me immediately.

“Are you coming back?” Zayn said slowly.

I rolled my eyes. “We all know I am.”

Liam grinned. “Sorry. You just never seemed like the run away type.”

I shrugged. “Yeah. I’m not taking the lifestyle too well.”

“Will you come back today, then?” Niall chirped.

I frowned. “I can’t just show up and act like everything’s fine. I’m not going to just walk in.”

“You want to make an entrance.” Zayn surmised.

I smiled. “I guess.”

Niall laughed. “You want him to get on his knees and beg for you back.”

I scowled. “I’m not that dramatic.”

Niall pouted. “He should beg. After what he put you through.”

I thought guiltily of Louis. In a way, I had cheated too. Except I wasn’t drugged. “Harry didn’t know what he was doing.” I said defensively.

Zayn raised an eyebrow. “You forgive him, then.”

I nodded. “After that song yesterday...”

“You heard it!” Liam smiled. “Louis will be pleased.”

I looked down at the mention of Louis. I had forgiven Harry, but would he forgive me? Would Louis forgive me?

“Now. Your dramatic entrance.” Zayn said, tapping his chin.

Liam beamed suddenly. “I have an idea.”

I glanced up as Isabel walked in. She was wearing black skinny jeans, nude heels and a white collared tank top. She looked amazing.

She smiled at me. “You look awesome!”

I looked down doubtfully at myself. I had borrowed yet another set of Isabel’s clothes. I was wearing ripped skinny jeans, a floral bra-let and tan gladiator flats. My hair hung in loose waves down my back and Isabel had done my makeup natural.

“Are you sure?” I said.

She rolled her eyes. “Yes. Don’t worry, you can take it off as soon as we get back to your bus.”

I smiled. “Right. Let’s go.”

She squealed and we headed out the door.

“I can’t believe we’re going to a One Direction concert!” She gushed.

I laughed. “Lucky Zayn found us some extra seats.”

She smirked. “You do know it’s outdoors? There are no seats.”

I shrugged. “Oh.”

Isabel lead the way through the streets, although I quickly picked up where it would be.

“It’s in the big parking lot, right? The one outside the mall?” I said.

Isabel flashed me a grin. “Right around the corner.”

We turned the corner.

“Okay. We really want to avoid that giant group of girls screaming my name.” I said, and took off running. Isabel pulled off her heels and followed me barefoot.

“Where are we going?” She shouted.

“To the bus!” I yelled.

I could hear the fans behind us. The were shouting things like;

‘Jenna’s here!’

‘We found Jenna!’

‘Catch her! Don’t let get away!’

I frowned at that last one. I jumped over a bush and ran up to one of the buses, hoping it was mine. A security guard jumped in front of me.

“It’s me! Jenna!” I screamed. The fans were getting closer.

Recognition flashed in the security guard’s eyes. “Harry’s girlfriend?”

“Something like that.” I muttered. “Can we go in, please?”

He nodded and the bus doors opened. I grabbed Isabel’s arm and pulled her inside, shutting the doors again just as the fans emerged from the tree line. I watched as they looked around, couldn’t spot us, and moved off back towards the concert.

Isabel grinned. “That was so funny.”

I rolled my eyes and looked around. Yes. It was the right bus.

“Wait here.” I instructed Issy, then went upstairs to get changed. I pulled on my own pair of ripped skinny jeans, a t-shirt with an elephant riding a bike on it, and my trusty old converse. I went back down the ladder and handed Isabel her clothes.

She stuffed them in her purse and grinned at me. “What now?”

I smiled determinedly. “Now for the plan.”
