RIGHT! BACK TO JENNA’S POINT OF VIEW!

*** JENNA’S P.O.V ***

Niall was grumbling about having to eat while we walked back to the beach. I glanced up at the hot sun as we reached the sand.

“Harry?” I said.

He glanced down at me, his eyes hidden by sunglasses.

“I’m going to go back to bus, kay?” I smiled.

“Do you want me to come with you?” He asked.

I shook my head. “I’ll just be on the phone with Cecilia anyways. Go have fun.”

He shrugged, but flashed me his knee-melting grin and waved as he walked back to the beach. I sighed, and walked back to the bus that I was sharing with Harry and Louis. I passed by a shower and happily ran over to it. I hadn’t had a real shower in ages. This would have to do. When I had washed all the salt water and sand off of me I quickly dried myself off and hurried to the bus. I was just about to climb up the steps when someone tapped me on the shoulder, making me jump.

I turned with a glare. It was Louis. “God, Louis! Don’t scare me like that!”

“Sorry.” He mumbled. “Jenna, Liam told me about what’s bothering you.”

Dammit! I knew it! Oh no. No no no. Don’t say anything!

“I understand.” Louis was saying.

No you don’t. You can’t understand what I’m going through. Not even I understand it.

“But it doesn’t matter what people think. We know the truth.”

What? Does he like me too? No. No no no!!! I’m in love with Harry!

“I’m not in love with you!” I blurted out.

Louis patted me on the shoulder. “I know, sweetie. The press just make these things up. Don’t let that interview bother you. I know that you are completely in love with Harry, not me. But avoiding me isn’t going to make the stories go away. Just ignore it. We shouldn’t have to stop being friends because of some stupid reporters.”

My jaw dropped. What? He thought the reason I was avoiding him was because if we weren’t seen together, the press wouldn’t make up rumors about us. Ugh! Liam! Did he think lying to Louis was going to help? Now I would have to act normal around him again, which meant spending lots of time around him. That wouldn’t help me sort out my feelings at all!

Out loud I said, “Okay. I’ll try to ignore it. Thanks, Lou.”

He gave me a joint-popping hug, which I weakly returned. With a smile, he turned and jogged back to the beach.

I groaned, and put my head in my hands. He didn’t love me. Of course he didn’t. We were supposed to be friends. Very close friends.

I climbed into our bus and found my phone. I decided to put some clothes on first. I was freezing. I found a pair of denim shorts and a T-shirt and quickly changed into them. Grabbing my phone, I glanced around our bus. After a moment, I ran back outside and on to the other bus. They wouldn’t mind me spending the night, would they?

I called Cecilia and thankfully, she picked up on the first ring.

“Jenna!” She cooed. I felt tears prick at the back of my eyes.

“Cecil. I need to talk.”

“Spill.” She said. And I told her.

I told her about the horrible interview this morning, and how that had made me realize something. That I had feelings for Louis. She didn’t say anything, so I continued. I told her how Liam suggested avoid Lou, and I did all morning. And then when Harry had brushed me off, how I went swimming and nearly drowned. She made a noise then, but let me keep talking. I started crying when I told her about being rescued, forgiving Harry, racing along the sand, and getting food. I was sobbing by the time I recalled the conversation I had just had with Louis.
