"Anna what in the hell did you get me into?" I asked, looking at the craziness that was going on around me

"Anna what in the hell did you get me into?" I asked, looking at the craziness that was going on around me. Somehow she got me out of the house to go to a pool party but this was just too much for me. All these musty bodies and the smell of weed does not mix. Didn't anybody teach them to take a shower BEFORE getting in the pool?

"Ohh, give it a try Winter! It's not that bad!!" She yelled over the music. She had a drink in her hand, rocking to some rap song that I don't even know. When did I get so old? Omg, I'm turning into my mother. I tugged on the strings on my cover up top pulling it down while pulling my swimming bottoms down. Let me get a drink.

It was around 5:30 and it was still hot outside. I mean humid, and it felt like I was sweating in places I should not be sweating. Plus I was drunk, hungry and my feet hurt and I'm pretty sure somebody just threw up in the plant that I was standing beside.

I pushed my shades closer to my face as my eyes scanned the crowd, looking at all the black people that did not get in the pool. A guy walked up to me, smiling from ear to ear.

"Smile love. You look so unapproachable."

"Yet, here you are.... approaching me," I mumbled, toying with my silver hoop earrings.

"I'm Spencer..." he extended his hand and I just looked at it, contemplating if I wanted to shake it. People don't wash their hands.

"Winter..." I decided to just go with a head nod. Couldn't go wrong with that.

"Like the season?" He asked, looking confused.

"Nah, like the car..." I laughed sarcastically. That really was a dumb question though.

"Be nice," Anna said in a firm whisper trying not to laugh. She never lets me be great.

"This is me being nice," I mumbled back, then turned and gave the guy a big smile. I mean he was cute but he didn't look a day over 18, meaning he couldn't legally go out for drinks with me.

"Why you playing so hard ma? Let me get you a drink beautiful," he told more than asked, leaning in towards me. I looked over at Anna who pushed, like literally pushed, me in his direction. I cursed her out in my head as I followed this young man into the house where the drinks were.

"How old are you?" I asked bluntly, as I leaned back against the counter. I know longer had a filter outside of my professional setting. No one knows me her so no need to act like I care.
