"Oh she cute. What she doing with your ugly ass?" Suge ribbed me through the cord phone as he looked at a picture of Winter through the glass that separated us. I hate coming to visit him but he's my blood so when he calls, I come.

"Yea, whatever nigga. She like dark chocolate."

"You mean burnt chocolate?"

I flipped him off laughing. He got real jokes but I don't pay him no mind. He just mad cause women love me and they just want his money.

"Yea yea, but that ain't what you call me down here for now was it? What's going on big brudda?" I held the phone up to my ear using my index and middle finger. I knew it would be some bullshit, cause it always is with him.

"I just been hearing some talk. Some about you wanting a different route."

"You heard it right. I told you that though, before all of this," I mumbled, roaming my eyes around at the predicament that he are in. "I don't want this shit brudda."

Suge looked around, then back at me with hurt and anger in his eyes. I know he's disappointed but I just feel like this shouldn't be put on me because he got caught up.

"I trusted you."

"Just because I don't want what you want don't me I can't be trusted. I'm a make sho its straight. I just don't want my name attached to nothing."

Suge chuckled, shaking his head. "This girl really got your head messed up you know that? You think cause you got a degree you better than the rest of us street niggas. A piece of paper don't mean shit."

I looked at him in disbelief. This was something coming from my own blood brudda mouth. We got the same momma and daddy and this is what he says to me. All I could do was smirk.

"See, the difference between me and you, I care about life outside of the streets. I want to make sure my daughter don't have to see me through a glass or in a grave."

"You just like me nigga."

I stood up and put the phone back on the hook. I couldn't even look at him the same. He started yelling but I tuned him out as I left out the the room. I'm dead to him and his dead to me. I don't need this shit. I pulled out my phone and placed a call.

"What's up Spence?"

"Call a meeting.... "

"Say less. I'm on it." Beep beep beep.

"Guess who's turning five next week?"

"MMEEEE!!!" Amir yelled, letting his voice carry through the car. I laughed, glancing at him through the rearview mirror then back at the road. We were headed to meet up with G and Bayleigh. Amir has really become comfortable with both of them and I couldn't be any more relieved.

"Is...is...mom...is.." Amir stuttered, leaning forward a bit. "Mom...mommie can I... can I.... see Ms Gia today too?" He asked, referring to Gianna. Ever since he found out that she was G's sister, he's more comfortable around him. He trusts other people's judgement. So if I say someone is a bad person, he'll stay clear from that person.

"No baby, she's not coming today," I said as I took the exit off of the freeway near G's house. I hated traffic on a Saturday. It's almost as if people just forget how to freaking drive when it's hot outside. I bet it's the people who ride around with no air. Like just because you burning up that don't mean we all gotta die.
