Thank you to all of you who supported me. It really means a lot.
Excuse the mistakes
G had started compressions in the ambulance when Spencer coded. They arrived at the hospital but G wouldn't give up. He was still on the gurney when it was room through the emergency doors, pressing into Spencer's chest.
"Room 4 is open!" A nurse yelled as they maneuvered the stretcher. Once he was in the room, G got down but didn't stop compressions. The medical staff had to pry him away so that they can do their job.
"Just don't let him die, please."
"We'll do everything we can sir.....Right now, you need to wait out here," she gently pushed him towards the waiting area. He followed instructions, going to the wait room where he paced back and forth, panicking. He called Maya and told her to meet him there, to take his statement. He didn't trust anyone else. He was so busy on the phone, he didn't see Winter run by him.
"What do we have?" She asked as she removed her stethoscope from around her neck and put them in her pocket. She doubled up here gloves before getting a closer look.
"Multiple GSW to chest. Collapsed lung, and no known exit wounds."
Winter nodded, searching his torso for bullet entrances. Her eyes got stuck to the tattoos, tattoos that she were familiar to. She looked at the patient's face and her eyes widened.
"Winter, what is it?", "Do you know him?", "What do you want us to do?", "Winter, hello?" Questions swarmed in, coming from every direction.
Everything faded out as Winter could only here her own heart beeping and see Spencer lying there motionless. She was in shock, in a panic. She had tunnel vision for a moment and then she snapped out of it.
"Winter, whats th-"
"Book an OR... call the blood bank, tell them to send all the A negative they have."
"You mean O negative?" A nurse questioned, confused, knowing that O negative was a universal donor.
"NO, Spencer is A negative. Once we run out of A negative, then get the universal...... and page the attending NOW!!" They quickly rushed him towards the elevator and to the operating floor. The crew scrubbed in as the others got the blood and operating room set up. Winter was ready first, waiting to assist.
"New booty, you don't have to stay. I got it from here," the attending mumbled as his gloves were placed on him. She could sense a bit of cockiness from him but if he knew like she knew, he better watch his mouth.
"Names Winter Washington, not new booty, and this is my friend on the table so if it's all the same, I'm staying," she sassed, standing the the right of him. Her eyes never left Spencer. The tubes that were down his throat made her cringe. She's seen this before, plenty of times, just never to someone she knew and cared around.
The surgeon began operating, removing the bullets from Spencer's chest. Winter took a seat on the stool near Spencer's head, keeping her hands up, making sure not to contaminate her gloves in case she had to step in to assist.
"Spence, what did you get yourself into? huh?" she asked, mainly to herself. She knew he lived a certain lifestyle that she wasn't accustomed to but never in a million years did she think he'd be on an operating table getting bullets removed from his body.
"Is he your boyfriend?"
"I don't think that's any of your business," she mumbled, looking at him then back at Spencer. She was never one to offer up personal information. That's just what it was to her, personal.
